What did you have for dinner II?

I hear alot about coffee rub on steaks. Do you use just regular ol coffee grounds? & what is the purpose/does it do?
Ground-up coffee beans (not the leftovers after brewing a pot of coffee), plus varying other stuff - brown sugar, granulated garlic, ground pepper, etc. it just adds another layer of flavor. Smokiness, maybe?

Make a mini-batch and try it on a grilled burger!

you have a go to recipe that i could steal?
I’ll see if I can pry it out of my husband…

OK, he says he thinks this is it. He made a batch and keeps it in the freezer, as ground coffee can go off a bit with time. Glad you asked, because it’s time for another batch, and he blanked out on where he found the recipe. He thinks he skipped the allspice.

The slight bitterness of the fresh-ground coffee against the brown sugar is pretty amazing.
