A lot of negativity and strong opinions over the past 24 hours so I thought we could take some time to post our appreciation toward coach Harper. We already have several threads about the coaching search so please do not post those opinions here.

I'll go first. Coach Harper seemed to have a great culture. Although the winning was not up to par, the girls seemed to love her. She had very few players transfer out during her time here and several players return for another year (Jordan Walker, RJ, Key, etc.). Thank you coach for creating an environment that was fun for the girls and for investing in them as people!

Thank you, coach!

I thought she conducted herself well in interviews. I remember Holly just saying “I dunno” over and over again when she was asked about how they could improve, etc.
CKH seemed to know and articulate more. She was a good ambassador for the University. I think she lacked aggressiveness, which is what did her in, IMO. She will make a good coach somewhere 👍

I liked Kellie and was wanting her to make it as Lady Vols coach. But i don't think he was recruiting very good, transfer portal was so,so. And the lack of athletic ladies on the court for Tennessee was not like S. Carolina, LSU put on the floor. And with Texas, and Oklahoma coming to the SEC, you better pick it up quick. I do think what done her in was the S Carolina game in the SEC tourney. You got Key standing in the paint guarding nobody. After she seen what Carolina was going to do, should of called a timeout and redone her defense.

She was definitely a players coach, hurt her at times I believe, and the girls loved playing for her. Really wanted for her to succeed but unfortunately that didn’t happen. A true LVFL and represented Lady Vols athletics with class and integrity.
Obviously she was EYE CANDY on the sidelines. I appreciate her efforts, nobody is more Tennessee than Kellie. Did a great job with what she had, athletic wise I thought her teams were less talented than most of her opponents. I don’t know behind the scenes with all the NIL and portal so I won’t comment. I thought she coached them up this season after she got everyone back from injuries. Hope she coaches again, I’ll be pulling for her wherever she goes.

Are you in the room with us?! This post wasn’t needed in this thread.

First class person and a lot of integrity. I still believe if she could've recruited she would've been successful here. Her rosters were always lacking both here and at NC State. The two places where she managed to put up a good enough roster for her competition was MO St and Western Carolina. She is a LVFL and I wish her only the best and hope she finds another coaching job real soon.

I appreciate that she managed to stick around till Danny White became athletic director.
If she'd parted ways with UT under a lesser AD, we'd have wound up with another Holy Warlock/Kellie Harper underachiever for another long span of mediocrity. If anyone can hire us a winning LV coach, it's DW.

She was a good representative of the school. Looked the part, spoke articulately in her interviews and seemed to be quite diplomatic. Unfortunately, couldn't deliver on the court but I do believe the effort, heart and desire was there; just wasn't equipped to be the leader that was needed. Hope she does well in her next endeavor.

I will just ditto what you said. It is a great summary of Kellie's contributions to the program.

Thanks for not respecting the request for nice things to say. Some will just be Debbie or Donnie Downers regardless .

I really love Jordan and Kellie’s relationship.
One of Kellie's greatest coaching accomplishments, by far. Do you realize what patience it took for KJH to nurse Jordan Horston through to where she is today? That's why it drives me nuts when people say Kellie doesn't deserve credit bc Holly originally recruited JH. Jordy has said the opposite many, many times.

I believe the same patience allowed Tamari Key to ever see the court again. And Jordan Walker to play on an SEC level. And Rickea Jackson to stick around and grow into a powerhouse. Just to name a few.

I think her relationships with her players was by far her best thing. And probably the one they'll all remember most.

I wonder if Kellie goes to Rickeas draft day
Thought about that. Will be interesting. She certainly deserves to. Not sure what the protocol is on that, since KJH no longer represents UT. Would be exactly Rickea's luck to have her 4th and final coach, her only 2x coach, not be able to come to her draft.

I would think that Rickea is able to bring whoever she wants with her, whether Kellie is a current or former coach.

Probably. But also would be a matter if Kellie feels like smoozing with other coaches in public. Could be a little awkward. We'll see.

OTOH, could be good networking for KJH if she's job searching
