What Card in Your Wallet?

Got the Disney Rewards Visa today. Planning on going early next year which will give me plenty of time to build up some rewards for the parks and Star Wars crap...plus it has DV on it which is pretty badass

And all three websites provide a score that is normally way off from what the three CRAs actually have you at. The only way to get the true score that 90% of lenders use, is FICO

Don't tell me that. I like thinking my score is really extremely high.

Glad you posted lee's, fwiw

It's not a real card kat. No expiration date and the card number consists of 123456789.

FAKOs (Credit Karma, Sesame, and the other one) are really only good for seeing things that are on your report as far as accounts, etc. etc. Even the scores that you get from Creditwise or other services that you get through your card provider are FAKOs and shouldn't be relied on as far as scores. You can spend 29 a month and get your FICO 8, FICO 4, and other FICO scores and know exactly what lenders are looking at.

This is not entirely accurate. Depending on which cards you have, you can get your actual FICO score monthly. Amex and Discover are two that give you legit scores.

Btw, if you sign up for the Experian credit tracker $1 7 day trial and then call to cancel before the week is up, they will offer you 50% off for up to 5 years. Or you can simply cancel and then start another $1 trial. Wash, rinse, repeat as needed.

You can always just buy something big and they'll make sure you know your score :)

Also, I believe if someone pulls your report/score (like a car dealer) they are required to give a copy if you request it

At the cost of a HP, better to pay the money for a report.

But if you're shopping for something they will all just count as one pull. Might as well get a copy to see where you stand

I'm about done with the ridiculous fico game anyways. House is closed and I don't need anything else on credit. My goal now is to hit zero

Technically yes, if you are auto, mortgage, or student loan shopping, they will only count as one in a 30-45 day period as far as FICO SCORES.....they will still show up as inquiries on your report and could affect you as far as CLI on existing accounts.

More power to you if you don't think you will ever need credit again. I don't necessarily have any big purchases anytime soon, but its still important for me to keep my scores in the prime range.

It will take 6-7yrs to pay off the house and I still keep a cc for business travel. It may not hit zero but my usage will be very low. Just not going to spend the money maintaining the score. But if I get to a point where I do need it there are always smart lenders who understand that goal and act accordingly

I end up saving money by using more credit than I would if I used just cash.

With greater exposure to risk. Miss a full payment or 2 and the benefits are gone. Not to mention the lies and misunderstandings with credit make me hate the system they've been allowed to perpetuate.

I understand that everyone has their methods but I don't really need more stuff (well, after my new TV is in :whistling:) and I can take the time to save for what I do want. I almost couldn't take my current job because we were tied down to a house. Thankfully we had the cash to escape but don't want to hit that again

Understand, everyone is different and credit works differently for everyone

Not sure if anyone else has this addiction, but I watch my Fico scores like everyday. If I see even as much as a +1, I start to want to party lol.
