if you live where Southwest flies, try one of theres.
You can establish credit and get free flights
or if you have a family member that is military or prior service go with USAA
it gives you the option of USAA issuing you a credit card, they only service military and their families...and there excellent...
Everything is online, or through the phone, I've used them since 1987 and never had an issue with them

bump thanks to VIA.
I'm new to this and looking to get a credit card. My only concern is a cc company not approving me since I have no credit history. Looking for a card with a good intro rate (even though I won't use it and will always pay it off). Many I've seen have a 0% APR intro for 12-18 months which would be great (though I doubt they give it to new guys)
*** I don't and will not buy things I can't afford. I will not carry a balance. I want to establish credit history so later on I can buy a house, etc. I also would like some perks that a CC can offer including doubling warranty of many purchases, cash back, safer purchasing online, and the like.
Because of the aforementioned, I do not care to be lectured on how CC are the devil!
Thanks
Quitting my job next month and will have to give up my corporate credit card. That leaves me down to 1 cc (MC) for personal things. I think I need another card especially for business stuff. Any suggestions on what card to get and from whom?
Do you have young kids? I have a Chase Disney Visa. YOu can earn money off of your next Disney trip. They dont' expire for 5 yrs, so it gives you time to save up a nice amount if you use it a good bit. Had it almost 4.5 yrs and earned almost 1000.00 off our trip we're gonna take in Feb. We pay the card off in full every month.
Interesting that this got bumped. Earlier this month, I just got denied a Chase Cash Back Visa Card (Internet application - they said something in writing will be sent). I have a good FICO score in the mid-high 700's, pay off my CC card every month, and have paid off my mortgage. I guess their computer program tells them that I pay off every month so that I would cost them money, hence I am denied. Still looking for another card but not with Chase.
