What can Tennessee use to sell itself to a new coach?

If you're a prospective coach who has been contacted by the search firm and are considering the job, what resources do you see that make it attractive? Are the facilities still competitive? Do we have a decent core returning to provide a good starting point?

It's Tennessee.

But to answer your questions, yes the program's facilities are still among the best in the country. Neyland on the banks of the Tennessee river is special in itself, but with the new renovations coming up it'll be an even nicer game day experience. One of the new baseball coaches, Frank Anderson, had multiple offers to be a coach and chose Tennessee because him and his wife fell in love with the city. Tennessee is a special place. You have all the resources and facilities you'll ever need, plus you have one of the most passionate fanbases in the country. We just need a good coach who can have us competing for championships again.

Tennessee is an elite job. We have suffered mediocrity for over a decade and still are one of the strongest fanbases. We almost felt the full wrath of the giant awakening, but once we get a coach who can take us to the top watch out. The sleeping giant will awaken and we will take our spot at the top of college football again.

A coach should hang up the phone if a search firm is calling on behalf of Tennessee.

Actually, yes I am. I've watched when I can over the past several years but haven't Kelly up as well as I'd like.

Top 10 job regardless, if I were looking at whether or not to accept the job and deal with the Legions of the Miserable who look for some sign of failure from Day One, if like to know if the roster will allow a level of competitiveness right off the bat.

UT has the facilities, the tradition, improved recruiting grounds to be a successful job.

Easily a Top 10 job.

The only thing that’s holding us back is our Administration that’s not willing to spend big bucks on proven HCs.

The renovations of the stadium, the new facilities, and the recruiting will take care of itself. That should draw a good coach in here.

Then why did coach after coach turn us down until we settled on a coach (Butch) with a losing record against the coach that we fired?(Dooley)......I’ll wait.....

Didn’t have to wait long...

Blame that on administration, not the program itself. Almost any coach would come here if our admin didn’t get in the way

Besides the fact that it's Tennessee with the facilities and tradition?

How about the fact that we have a fanbase of coach worshippers that will give the incoming coach at least 4 years to turn things around. There were still a ton of benchlicking morons defending him up until this year.

The incoming coach won't exactly have a high bar to hurdle when the trumpet blower leaves.

Is reading comprehension hard for you?

Tennessee is the type of program that shouldn’t require a search firm.

UT’s AD should be able to handle a search on his/her own with a few trusted advisors.

Not pay 6 figures to a search firm
