i was really impressed the way the vols closed the season and worked their way into the SECC game against what is imo the best team in the SEC and maybe the best team in the country.
i was astounded by the enthusiasm and overall play of the D yesterday. there was some serious hitting going on. perry-loos cut finger seemed to be having a negative effect on his passing and going into the 4th qtr with a one point lead it looked like we could key on the run, shut LSU down, and take it to the house.
so, backed up on our own 15 we are PASSING the ball against the #3 D in the NCAA? if they are scoring at will (like UF, bama, cal, and 2nd half KY) maybe we have to roll the dice just to keep their O off the field. but that is NOT what was happening.
play safe, punt if you have to, and let the D stick it to 'em.
if LSU had mounted a game winning 4th qtr drive against our tired D, so be it. if they had burned one of our DBs for the game winner, understandable.
but making a stupid unnecessary gamble and gagging the SECC? that is a tough one for me to take.
