What Buck Fitzgerald said

8 wins would mean going 4-4 in the conference and running the table out of conference. I don't think it should be too much of a reach to set breaking even in the conference as a minimum acceptable result.

I still don't know where he sees so many NFL guys on our roster...yet.

We do have some but not at almost every position and many haven't proven they're quality SEC starters that dominate alot at their position...yet.

We have more depth but those kids are young, inexperienced and mostly Sophs and Freshmen that aren't SEC starter quality for a 2 deep rotation like alaBummer has.

I love the optomism and positive attitudes and CDD should show our team reports like this to help build their confidence and motivation and show them that much better results are expected of them this season but don't go overboard and think we're going to win the SEC this season.

I'll consider it a great season if we even win the SEC East but that won't be easy since UGA has such a easy schedule, again, as usual.

1 game at a time and keep building that confidence and momentum all season long.

If we're undefeated going into the alaBubba game and win or even play them really close then all bets are off and we just might run the table from then on if we don't have any major injuries.

UGA is also a key game since they have such a easy schedule...We not only need to get the Win but we need to put up serious numbers and give them a good old fashioned Tennessee butt stomping that leaves zero doubts in the National rankings that our Vols are back and looking for revenge against anyone across the line from us.

We need our kids to seriously BELIEVE they can play against anyone they face and to work really hard to learn the systems and then to execute at a very high level every snap of every game since we really are still a little undermanned on our 2 deep rotation.

VFL...GBO!!!

Our starting offense is made up of three seniors and six juniors. Seven if Neal ends up the number one back.
The three seniors are returning starters and all of the juniors either started or played since freshman.
They are not young, nor inexperienced.

Thomas, Rivera, and Bart? Lol..

An 8 win season would probably mean Tennessee lost to everyone who isn't awful.

I don't think it's unreasonable to beat at least one team that doesn't suck in 3 years.

I love the optimism and positive attitude finally on this board, but I'm afraid this is just another case of getting our hopes high, and the beginning of a huge letdown.

Losses to Bama, UGA and USCe would get us to 9 wins. One additional loss in a swing game-- Missouri or MSU-- played hard and close would get us to 8. Winning 8 or 9, stomping the Gators in Neyland, beating the sh!t out of Vandy and hanging 50 on UK would take Dooley off the hot seat, in my book.

He may even get an SEC participation trophy!

Upcoming juniors.. As in, the last two years they were frosh and sophomores.. And had to be the main contributors.. It's crazy how the depth chart fell off before DD got here.

So two years of starting in the SEC means they aren't inexperienced.

Going into their third year, they aren't young either.

It would show marked improvement over a 5-7 or 6-7 team. Look, I want to be a homer like everyone else, but a little practicality would be wise. 8 wins would be good this year, but I like I said, more wins would be better!

So because Dooley failed to meet expectations, they have been lowered?

fpy.....

I will be disappointed and possibly even support a change if UT loses to Mizzou or USCe. UT has more talent than either of those teams.

I am not really sure why people think USCe is going to be that good. USCe had significant losses on both sides of the ball.

Reality is a good number of players are experienced in the SEC and need to have results.

And the East has one team that can say they are legitimately more talented on both sides of the ball than the rest and that's UGA, who's coached by one of the biggest choke artists the SEC has seen.

I agree with you-- USCe is def winnable, but we play in Columbia, and they have momentum on their side. We'll be coming off a tough stretch and who knows how hard or long this team will fight. We had talent last year, but we weren't in it to win it. I think we'll have a good idea how this season will go after Florida. IMO, it's a must-win.
