What bowl game are we going to? (merged)

I made a post in the Tickets forum, but no one has responded. Does anyone know if there's a place to get tickets for military? I'm in the Army and was wondering if there's a person or website to contact?

Bowl games are about one thing.........making money!
Sorry to say, bit I do not believe that any discounts are given on any bowl tickets. I hope, for your sake, that I am wrong.
THANKS for your service!

Knoxville News-Sentinel and The Tennessean have already reported we are going, and today the Roanoke Times (Va Tech's local paper) has confirmed it as well. I'd say it is pretty official.

Now it is just time for us to buy up all the tickets to make sure we have the 3 to 1 ratio over Va Tech fans that Alabama had there this September.

TicketMaster is sold out, but Tickets Now has a lot available...

Chick-fil-A Bowl Tickets at Georgia Dome - Available at TicketsNow

Keep an eye on the ATL Craigslist. A ton of people around ATL get free corporate tickets from Chick-fil-A and sell them on there.

Thanks! I haven't made it to a game all year being here in Florida and this would be the only game to see Crompton, Hardesty, and Berry!

Did yall see that the SEC is putting a record of 10 SEC teams in this year!!! GO SEC!!!

Chattanooga Times Free Press | SEC 10-team bowl representation clearing up

Yes, I'm especially impressed with 3-5 Kentucky, 3-5 South Carolina, 3-5 Auburn, and 3-5 Arkansas dividing up bids from Birmingham, Memphis, Nashville, and an obviously high group of Bloomin' Onion eaters from Tampa.

Shame on 3-5 Mississippi State for scheduling OOC tilts against Houson and Ga Tech in place of Eastern Michigan or Miami of Ohio or the conference could have really made me proud with 11.

It's is pretty crappy, but I just wanted to point out something good from some points, given we are in the SEC. I'd rather it be us than ACC!! I'm sort of glad we aren't headed to Tampa though! Tallahassee is just as expensive and I can't afford to waste more money on a town that's overrated like state's football team!

We're in the Chick-Fil-A.

Kentucky has received an invitation to the Music City Bowl and will play UNC, and Georgia has received an invitation to the Independence Bowl.

AJC is reporting that Georgia has an invitation to the Independence Bowl to play Texas A&M. It looks like Kentucky will play Clemson in the MCB. It is looking pretty definate that Tennessee will play Va Tech in the Chic-Fil A.

If they eliminated half of the bowl games tomorrow, I'd be a happy man.

I like a lot of bowls although I wish there was a playoff of some kind. Just enjoy watching football so the more the merrier for me.

Eh...I'll admit I enjoy watching a few of them--they are better than the Rudolph and Miracle on 34th St. reruns that usually permeate pre-holiday TV. But pretending that going 3-5 in conference, winning 2 games against the Sun Belt and one against whatever they call 1-AA, and then traveling to Memphis to play East Carolina is anything more than a meaningless exhibition and holding that award out as the mark of a successful football season is faulty.

Mike Hamilton says tickets will be available at UTtix.com after 9:00pm Eastern. Says 11,000 tickets already sold.

yep just got the text from V coach. just wish we were playin clemson. I would love to beat them!!!!

Yeah, Clemson is a bigger name and would probably have more national appeal... But blowing out overrated teams is always fun, and Va Tech is quite likely the most overrated team in the country, so I am hoping we can do what LSU did to them a year or two ago.

Clemson is not a bigger name, nor do they have more national appeal, than Virginia Tech.

Virginia Tech is on a level much much higher level than Clemson nationally. Year in and year out.

???

Clemson has got a much larger fan base, which is why their stadium seats 20,000 more than Va Tech, and why their ACC championship appearance was at least kind-of full. Every time Va Tech has been in a BCS bowl, it is the most poorly attended and poorly watched BCS bowl. Va Tech is also known for playing a lot of Thursdays, meaning it is a poor TV draw. Clemson also has national championships.

Va Tech has been better during the Bowden era, but as a program it isn't even close. I'd even say the Clemson is the better team this year too.

Well that just proves you don't know what you're talking about.
