Because nothing is official and there haven'e been any updates.. If there were, wouldn't you think they would be in those threads??

I had a converstaion yesterday afternoon with a high-ranking member of the UT athletic department. There were two interesting points:

1. He told me without question we would be going to Atlanta. I don't know what will happen, but from this discussion, there is absolutely no question that the AD believes 100% that the Chicken Bowl is our destination.

2. The screwiness in the process was caused by a bunch of bungling by the Outback Bowl. The Cotton wanted to switch Ole Miss and UT, called the Outback and made the offer. The Outback could not get approval from their board to do it, so the Cotton picked 8-4 Ole Miss. The Outback then started fussing about being left with a bunch of 7-5 teams and cut the Auburn deal.

Knoxville News-Sentinel and The Tennessean have already reported we are going, and today the Roanoke Times (Va Tech's local paper) has confirmed it as well. I'd say it is pretty official.

Now it is just time for us to buy up all the tickets to make sure we have the 3 to 1 ratio over Va Tech fans that Alabama had there this September.

I made a post in the Tickets forum, but no one has responded. Does anyone know if there's a place to get tickets for military? I'm in the Army and was wondering if there's a person or website to contact?
