What are your Two favorite all-time Tenn plays? one offense and one def.

Defense: In the 1998 game vs. Arkansas, Tennessee defensive tackle Billy Ratliff exploded off the line, bull-rushing Brandon Burlsworth and driving him backward. Burlsworth inadvertently stepped on Clint Stoerner’s foot, causing Stoerner to stumble during the rollout. As he tried to brace himself with his right hand, which was holding the football, the ball came loose and hit the ground. Ratliff quickly pounced, recovering the fumble at the Arkansas 43-yard line.

Offense: Tee Martin 79-Yard Touchdown pass to Peerless Price in the 1998 National Championship game.

Too many to count…

Dobbs pass to Jennings to steal victory at Georgia. Dobbs was a bright light during dark times for Tennessee.

Reggie White sacking Boomer Esiason in the 1983 Citrus Bowl, knocking the heralded quarterback out of the game.

Offense: Mose Phillips’ touchdown run vs South Carolina in 1992

Defense: Corey Vereen’s fumble recovery in the end zone after strip sack by Derek Barnett vs Georgia in 2016

Offense is easy...

"Peyton Manning to Joey Kent on play...number...ONE!!"

Defense is much harder but I guess in terms of impact its Ratliff's fumble recovery against Arkansas.

Honorable mention is the 2001 Florida game where we absolutely laid the wood on a Florida WR (forgot the parties involved) but that hit was SWEET and set the tone for the whole game!

Butch not running it in from the 1 inch line against Oklahoma with Alvin Kamara on his roster.

Butch not rushing the QB in 2015 against Florida when he had a mile to go and was basically playing on one leg.

Both classics that really created emotional responses from me.

My offensive play is like others, Peyton to Joey Kent against Bama first play of the game for a TD.

My favorite defensive play is Eric Berry putting the over hyped dawg RB Knowshow Moreno up in the cheap seats.

Holloway's scramble, breaking multiple tackles and ankle breaking moves, for a TD against Georgia Tech in 1973 TIED with Jeff Powell's 60 yard TD against Miami in 1986 Sugar Bowl

Goodrich's pick six against FSU in national championship game TIED with Dale Jones' backfield INT at Alabama in 1985.

Dobbs nailboot is it for me on offense. 90k screaming Dawgs completely silenced. The sheer look of defeat in their fans eyes was almost better than winning the game itself lol.

On defense I wanted to go Goodrich pick 6 in the natty. Then I remembered that it never happens if AL Wilson doesn't go crazy vs Florida. I'm not sure there is a more iconic play than Wilson diving over the OL and destroying Florida's QB

My personal favorites:

Offense - 1996 vs Alabama Jay Graham 79 yard TD run - most joy I had seen to date at Neyland

Defense - Steve Taneyhill being dragged deep enough by his Golden Mullet

Bonus Special Teams - Dale Carter 2nd half kickoff return for a TD against Florida in the rain
Carter's TD return was on a beautiful Saturday night in Neyland. You're thinking of the 1992 rain game.

I’ll limit it to things I got to watch in my era. Chase McGrath beautiful knuckler to end the streak and then Will Brooks sealing the deal this past year. Other than winning a title I don’t think those moments will be eclipsed for me

Its been mentioned by many, but without the Arkansas fumble, UT doesn't get a national title that year and I can't think of a more significant positive play for UT on defense.
If we were talking team defensive games, I would have said shutting down Bo Jackson.

Us shutting down McFadden in 2007 was sweet too!

I was on the field behind the UF bench right when this happened. Kelvin Kight came back to the UF sideline and clearly didn't even know what planet he was on afterwards.

If 117 yards is being shut down then I think we have two ideas of what those words mean. He was shut out of the end zone but he still had over 5ypc and right around his season average. They also had a guy named after male genitalia playing QB.

Offensive would be the Shawn Bryson touchdown run in the 98 #2FLA v #6UT classic first touchdown of the game. I called game right after this play. Glad I was right lol

Defensive would be well of course the "Stumble Fumble". I was watching this game with friends and the room was deflated until this gift from God.
