What are you listening to?

Note David Palmer singing lead vocals. Reportedly, ABC records forced his addition to Steely Dan because, as was custom in the day, they wanted Steely Dan to perform live to support their new album, and Fagan had stage fright. He sang on some of the songs for Can’t Buy a Thrill and toured with them to support it. Later, Fagan would overcome his stage fright, and Palmer left the band. After proving themselves as hit makers, Fagan and Becker wanted to confine themselves to the studio, where they arduously crafted their recordings.
