Dawn Staley. She's won the SEC regular season the last 4 years & the tourney the last 3 years. She has USC ranked in the top 5 consistently & has made USC a destination for top tier players to consider.

She makes 1.1 million per year and they are the best program in the SEC right now. Can you make a case for why she would come here?

If CHW is let go her replacement should be announced the following day. Currie may not want to fire a coach in his first year . :dunno:

Firing Holly would be a brilliant move in his first year. Would end a huge message to Vol fans that he's intent in fulfilling promise of having UT compete for championships.

I highly doubt they will fire Holly. She would need to step down herself I believe.

But a lot will be riding on this class she has recruited for the fall 2017. Can not wait.

Whoa...several people who have never coached...where is the nut to throw Tyler Summitt's name out there? How about Pokey?

Here I is... :wavey::wavey::wavey::wavey:

Hire Tyler.

Good thing about Tyler and Pokey C?

Well, they both like women!:rofl::rofl::rofl:

No use to talk about this now she is back for next season and probably the next. Tennessee is not paying her a buyout they will let her contract run out. Will be a huge surprise if she is extended after the last two seasons. This will tell you what the AD is thinking because if she is not extended it means we are running out her contract and she want get another unless she produces much better results on the court.
Right now she is the coach and will be the coach definitely through next season.

Personally don't think Holly will be let go or step down. If either one of those happens we will lose Diamond and Mercedes and a good chance some of the recruits go somewhere else. And we'll be in a very bad situation.
I think Holly needs to re-evaluate her coaching style because accountability has been an issue all year. I can remember Pat taking summer trips to learn various new concepts for upcoming seasons. I think the staff would benefit from a retreat of some sorts. There's no on floor leader so when a team goes on a run against us, we don't have that vocal Cierra Burdick. Depth will help next year because if you don't bring it or make a mistake, you come out and next person up.

Just my opinion.

Holly and coaching style?? Won't say can't but, hard to teach old dog new tricks..
As to losing players. When you start anew, well, figure on starting all anew. Some may go ( depends on who comes in) some will stay and new will come in. Just the way it is when you start over..

Staley is the most overrated coach in the nation. She's made it past the Sweet Sixteen ONE TIME.

A list of coaches who I think would be good for the job and help get us back to prominence:

Scott Rueck (my top choice, but unlikely since he's an Oregon State alum)
Mike Neighbors
Vic Schaeffer
Wes Moore
Jennie Baranczyk
Mike Carey
Karen Aston
Jeff Walz
Kim Barnes Arico
Jose Fernandez

You can Remove Vic Schaeffer from your list. Schaeffer absolutely loves Texas A&M, and is waiting for his good friend, 71 year-old Gary Blair, to retire. Schaeffer will then be head coach at Texas A&M.

I say another 13 to 18 years.... that's how long Holly will be coaching. I'm not sure who will take over at that point. Maybe one of her assistants.

13 to 18 years, in fact 2 more years, is asking for a complete collapse of the Lady Vol program. The only exception is if Holly's coaching skill sets have a complete overhaul, or she turns into Genno. No matter how much we love or dislike Holly, she is not a program keeper or a program builder. With all the talent she will have at her disposal next year, and if she fails to get it done, she should be done. In fact, baring a run to the final 4, next year she should start out on the very hot seat.
