What are some of you expecting?

i am also a sheep when it comes to UT football. I am looking at the rest of the games and think that we have a legitimate shot at winning those games. I think we are making big strides in different areas of the game. If folks will just be patient, we can be special again

Nonsense. There is no difference the past 3 years than from the previous 2-3 before that. The program as a whole has taken huge steps backward this decade, and today showed nothing...absolutely nothing, has changed. ST are still an issue, we still have no QB, third and longs are irritatingly bad, and we are way behind on talent. These were all issues before the last 3 years.

i hope someone has taken all the firearms, razors and prescription meds out of your house......

Maybe if someone simplifies things a little you'll get what Unimane is trying to get across....you see...it's like this....Dooley is in the kitchen and he's cooking....let's say he's making chili.....the recipe calls for hamburger but all he has is crap.....so he has to use it.....so guess what?.....the chili tastes like crap....give him a chance to save up a little money so he can buy some hamburger before you start complaining about his cooking......and come in from the ledge negavol

I expect to see improvement every game in our competitive level. I saw it today....big improvement from last week. I see so far that it is going to fall on Simms if we win or lose. If we can't get the passing game going we're not going to be able to get Poole and Oku going. I still think the passing game this year is ahead of where it was last season with Crompton....IMO.

All points are spot-on.

This team will ultimately be judged from Novermber 1st onwards.

If we arrive at that time 3 - 5 it will be a HUGE accomplishment for Dooley and Co. It depends on Simms mostly. If he did have a "Lights On" moment in the second half last Saturday, I think we will be there.

Spot on. Dooley has got to tighten up the special teams quick. That is the improvement I want to see in Oct. .

Just curious, when did this lights on moment occur? I hope you're right, I just didn't see it.

fulmer/kiffin left little talent. If dooley can win 6 games with this bunch, it's a decent year.

The way he limited mistakes under duress in the second half. The way he made time for himself and then actually saw JH open in the end zone. The reads and throw to Poole which may have made the game even more interesting.

Re: JH TD - Crompton would have hit the cheerleaders on that throw, not a TD. Simms is farther along than JC, but Fulmer left #5, #26, #59, #129, #151, #168 +1 for Kiffin. Kiffin left Dooley a gawdawful mess.

Fulmer left both of them a giant mess. Time for Fultanic to stop blaming culture changes and everyone else for his mess.

He would be fielding a deeper, stronger, more competitive team than we have right now.

Given that, sounds like the real mess was made afterwards.

You're wrong. It's his mess, neither Dooley or Kiffin have been here long enough to effect it. This had been coming for a long time and it's just now bubbling to a head.

We'd be starting Shaw, who just got passed up by one of Kiffin's true freshmen, and people just like him. There'd be no Justin Hunter, no Jawuan James, no Zach Fulton, no Marsalis Teague, no Eric Gordon, no Michael Palardy, etc.

We just really need to win 6 games and get to a bowl. The extra practice will help and hopefully save face with some recruits.

I'd like to see this team come together around the fact that everyone thinks the program is washed up. And I feel like the Florida game is definitely a step in that direction. UT is not what it use to be but it isn't close to being washed out or forgotten about. In due time the Orange and White will definitely rise to the top in the SEC.

Man.....I'll give you credit....you're steadfast in your support of Fulmer. I hope you're trying to say that a few players who left the program would still be on the roster had he stayed....BUT...the main reason he was fired was the writing on the wall...ie...that the roster was going to be void of talent just as it is now....both lines are running on fumes.

Both FL and Bama would have destroyed the Vols last year with Fulmer at the helm.....SC would have beaten them and possibly KY and VAndy.....he lost his edge and was coaching like a nuetered cat....and we're seeing now that he was also delusional and in denial

This... Also all of last year people said 6-6 would be what we should expect in 2010;when did that change? When did we ever expect we should beat oregon or uf?the onlyreason people are upset is because for one second in those games those people thought, ' hey we can beat these guys '. If we can go 6-6 what would be great, and if we beat either lsu or uga and somehow go 7-5 we should be ecstatic

I predicted six, seven win TOPS....I'm staying with that....I don't see people bashing Dooley like the OP said either....there's always going to be somebody doing that anyway even if he was winning....that being said, I think it's going to take at least 3 years before we can really judge Dooley.

What am I expecting? Free tickets on the 50 yard line next to a young lady whose breasts are disproportionally large when compared to her waist.

Moral victories are for teams like UAB and Buffalo. Not teams that are among the winningest in CFB history.
