What are our insiders hearing?

The Hire Les Miles crap needs to stop. He is a old coach that refuses to change his offensive philosophy.

Cutcliff will not leave duke so stop with that.

Charlie Strong?? Really? That's laughable.

I'm inside my house right now --

and I'm hearing texts from a Vandy fan friend that Jones doesn't have the team organized well enough / and just hasn't been good for Tenn afterall / but that we do have some excellent players.

Symptoms of a control freak... if he can delegate to each coach to a higher degree, then they can show their total set of skills. But likely there are several coaches on the D side of the ball that just don't belong in the SEC.

Blackburn won't be fooled by this lingoistic, stubborn fraud. Clean house. Hire Cutcliffe. Bring back the Chief. Go out and get the best strength coach in the country. Win again.

Cut wouldnt win **** here. He couldn't win **** at Ole Miss.

Could not agree more. He did fine early on......but it's only going to get worse. No one jumps on a sinking ship. That goes for assistant coaches as well.

This is the reality.

If Butch is here next year, he will have to do something he has shown a total inability to do: overachieve. He will have less talent, a new QB, much less talented depth due to 3* class, & will have to show drastic improvement to "right" the ship going forward.

Now I ask you, during his 4 years here, what makes anyone believe he has the capability to do so?

Not for everyone

There is absolutely zero chance a new Chancellor whose primary responsibility is to protect the institution and its image is going to approve Briles. Or Petrino. Not saying it's valid or fair. But it is the most likely reality.

When all of you hotheads calm down--take a drive in the big truck--you'll realize that Jones remains our best bet. Hiring coaches is always a crap shoot--unless you can get a star, and stars are nearly impossible to get. We need somebody who can recruit, and Jones has proven he can do that. Les Miles would be a disaster--he's burnt out and was lucky have had some of the success that he did. That's why nobody hired Fulmer when he was sacked.

You honestly don't think that for enough money we can't hire a more sure bet coach? Chris Petersen rebuilt a decimated Washington team and I'm sure for enough money we could get him. Don't keep Jones because you are afraid of the alternative. He's done. No coaches wouldn't to walk into this mess next year and the recruiting will take a huge hit.

I disagree. He has overachieved in many of his years as a head coach- but only by small margins. He'll need to significantly overachieve next year

Not sure who the Coonskip Cap is or if they're reliable, but there's this:

I used to follow him on Twitter since he posted some funny stuff, but I wouldn't believe anything he said as far as "sources" or legitmate information. He seems to always just poke the fire. But hopefully it's true. If he is searching around and word got out about it, I do not see why Tennessee would want to keep him. To have a coach that's looking for a way out and considering quitting on the team too?

Even if it was legit, Houston would laugh at him, and Purdue, well they might entertain the idea, but I doubt it. They're not all about winning though, so maybe. His best shot is Delaware. Imo.

Too legit to quit... LOL

Let's see, can't close the deal at UT, but hey, let me come to Houston where I know I can get er done.

Butch is here and will leave when they tell him to.

CBJ is NOT going anywhere.

Wake up FANz.

Hart and the Hill will keep him. OilMan is happy, he owns the Browns for Goodness Sake.

You have to wake up and VOTE with you feet.
60-70K only in the seats is the ONLY thing to get their attention.

Bump.

On the inside, two things are of primary importance:

1) Revenue

2) Pleasing the owner (hint: also owns a sucky NFL team)

We have no influence on #2.

But, we do have influence on #1. Season tickets at UT sold out in 2016 for the first time in about 15 years. As long as Neyland stays at or above target occupancy, CBJ is going nowhere.

So, vote with your wallet. I did.

Atlanta Vol made some interesting comments, said that we've got a coaching search "committee" in place, in which CPF is a very active participant. Also said he believes Butch is gone in 2 years.

The unfortunate inference there is that Butch is here for 2 more years.

Search committee for a head coach or AD?

Preseason rankings and expectations (from fans and pundits alike) will do that.

If Cut got all he asked for he would come. Woukd be a lot but it's not an absurd thought. He would leave for UT.

I doubt Butch leaves who quits a 4 mil a year job absolutely no one but an idiot do you really think he cares about Tennessee no just says what sounds good.....also why not allow shoop to bri g his guys if they are still at Penn St we need to go get them
