Derek Dooley as our head coach!! Hey he is the coach now and just a loss to the Gators and everyone sh*ts themselves and wants to throw in the towel. Long season guys don't be "that" kind of fan.. Support your coach and your program through difficult times and great times. A win against Georgia and everyone will say oh dooley's the man blah blah blah...

If I were basing my opinion on one game, it wouldn't be the last collapse, it would have been the one before it.

I don't see why anyone would want Smart. It seems like the Apples fall far from the Saban tree. But for real Dooley ain't gonna cut it.

Pro tip: Only having 58 posts doesn't qualify you to give pro tips. (yes, I know it applies to me as well.)

I will support the players and the University of Tennessee football program throughout. I, however, will not support a coach that was hired to right the ship and get our program back on track, and yet has not done such a thing in his tenure here. We are still in roughly the same spot in this league now than where we were when he took over.

+1

I would argue that we are actually much worse off than when Dooley took over. In the 2009 season we were 7-6 and went to a bowl game. We had won (4) SEC games that year and we played tough losing by 10 points of UF and 2 points of Bama. We were a much better competitive team in 2009. It's went down hill since.

I agree with the message of sticking with coach and not "freaking out" after one loss but a lot of people still have that sick feeling in their stomach from the Kentucky loss. We lost to Kentucky. Kentucky took Western Kentucky to overtime last saturday. Kentucky.

So what u are suggesting is we have a head coach that has a losing record and has never beaten a ranked opponent. Great idea! true VFL imo

Regardless of what you think about him as a coach, if you think the program is roughly in the same spot as it was when Dooley took over, you don't know jack.

You are absolutely correct. At least we don't have to go through an entire offseason after this past weekend. I keep hoping that we see a major turnaround, not just for anyone's job security, simply because I want the Vols back on top. Let's just hope that the Florida game was a hiccup and not a sign of what's to come this year. And for those wondering, yes I know what the rest of the schedule looks like.
