What about the idea of a minority coach??

I haven't seen anyone mention this but with the pressure that the NCAA is under to get more minority coaches into the conferences, I just wonder what the chances are of this happening at UT?? If so, who are some minority coaches out there that might be considered?

Note: I have absolutely NO problem with Tennessee hiring a minority coach. As long as he's well qualified and has the credentials and can WIN, I don't care what color he is!

I dont care if Marvin the Martian coaches, if he can turn the program around, I will take them.

Do me a favor, before you come up with the magnificent idea, give me an idea or two.....

by the way is your hidden attitude that bad you need a caveat to say look i am not being a bigot?

Race will be absolutely no factor in this decision.

Uh, no. I just wanted to make sure everyone understood that I wasn't bringing the issue up from an attitude of "oh god I hope they don't hire a minority." I just wanted to know who were some good minority prospects in case the NCAA does strong arm MH into considering a minority candidate, that's all.

Most qualified candidate will get the job. That should be the only criteria for hiring the next coach.

is this thread actually serious?

we are bringing race into this? OMG just get a good coach.

The only minority coach i would want is named Trooper Taylor. Name a good one out there to get. I am not sayin Troop is the man for the job but no other minority impresses me out there right now. (in the college ranks)

as long as he doesn't try to break out the Brittney Spears earpiece like Miles did I will be ok .
