What about Spurrier?

these things turn into Gruden threads with no warning whatsoever. I agree with the Spurrier hire, although I don't see him leaving.

If it's going to happen it needs to be this season. If we want Spurrier it has to be when Fulmer is failing and there is much gnashing of teeth.

If we can't bring on Gruden, I want Spurrier. Can I get a harumph?

It seems like the majority of people on this board want Spurrier as the new HC and at the same time people want some "new" and "young" blood to take over the program(as do I).

I'm assuming people want "new" and "young" blood because they want somebody to be here for the long haul (assuming whoever it is would be successful) which doesn't seem like something Spurrier would be interested in because if I'm not mistaken, he's older than Fulmer. Spurrier, to me, would seem to be like the JuCo equivalent for a HC and not a long term fix.

Maybe I'm alone on this but I wouldn't want Spurrier to coach at UT, not because of who he is but because of his longevity issues(unless he plans on coaching into his 70's or 80's).

Flashback to three years ago and how violent someone would be beaten if they suggested Spurrier coach UT.....oh how times have changed.

the long haul in college football has now been compressed to about 10 years. Much longer, coaches are spent and fans ready for the new, IMO. Extended years of dominance is a thing of the past with the parity that exists today and I just can't imagine a coach making it work for much longer than that.

SPURRIER has been my #1 choice the whole time. I doubt Stoops would come, he didn't go to bama or florida when they came knocking.

Would Spurrier even be able to stick around for 6 or 7 years? Surely he's going to want out before too much longer and just play golf
