What about giving Hoke a two-year contract?

He's been around UT football for a bit now. His college coaching experience and record are not much different than some of the other guys we're looking at. Why not give it a go and see how he does? If he does well, we extend the contract. I bet he'd be cheap and besides, the fire around all this would have died down by the time we have to make a more permanent offer to him or someone else. Does anyone know how the Tennessee players feel about him?

Disclaimer: This is not an endorsement. I don't know much about the guy. Just wondering why his name is not bantered around. Not everyone loved the Fulmer choice when Majors was let go.

This would not be the worst decision in the world, especially considering how royally the great Currie screwed this thing up. God it would be nice to have an average AD.

If yoIre going to promote someone then roll the dice on Shoop (who planned on getting a head coaches job before his defense imploded last year under the deluge of injuries - which happens when you fire the S&C coach and take a year off from the gym.

No or small raise from current million dollar salary but add lots of bonus incentives for performance.

Hoke is only coach in UT history that is winless and I’d just as soon it stay that way. He can stay on as DL coach but that’s all he earned at this stage (and that is just for a year to save money on another buy out)
No Hoke needs to screw back off to Michigan and cease to be remembered, our D-line has been almost been as shambolic as the O-line

Nothing like an admission that the AD is literally unable to accomplish his job duties.

I suggested this a few weeks back. But, having seen the last two games I have decided I didn't know what I was talking about. Still don't.

How about we just let Currie coach the team himself?

I'd rather give it to Shoop. Hoke looks dead inside.

That would be much better. Matt Canada, OC at LSU is looking to get a head coaching gig. He's been around a while and could likely get some good offensive assistants.
