I've been thinking is Cut really that good????? The Manning brothers are going to be good even if the local high school coach is coaching them...They have it in their blood...We win the NC in 98, but Cut leaves us...What did he really do at OleMiss??? Got FIRED.... Maybe we are chasing the wrong coaches Fulmer included...Let's make a change UT it's time...

if i'm not mistaken sanders isn't the OC at ky so he's not doing to much, sure he's coaching the qb but he's not calling the plays

In Cutcliffe's defense, the guy was kinda shafted at Ole Miss. If you don't believe me, look at the state of the rebels football team now. They've gone from having at least winning records with Cutcliffe to Ed Orgeron. Good move rebs:crazy:

Cut just came back a few years too late. He will be a casuality at the end of the year.

Randy obviously wasn't the whole problem. He should have never been given the OC job to begin with.Another bad move on phil's part.Randy is a good QB coach and should have been left there as our's.

That's sad to think we treated him and his family like crap....

Take away Ainge's injury in '04 and add Cut in time for '05. Who knows? Taking away all of the '05 off-the-field problems would have made a difference too. Oh well. That was then, and this is now. I am very concerned that the wheels will start falling off on the rest of this season.

Cutcliffe is an over-paid QB coach with reasonable offensive coordinator skills.

However he gets all of the credit when the offense is good, but gets none of the blame when it isn't.

Cutcliffe's 13 points of offense really impressed me. Way to exploit the inexperience of the Gators defense. People think our offense is so improved because we pass the ball a lot. We still suck, we just do it in a different way.

He only gets credit because he coached the Manning brothers... They came to College very well coached from their father....Anige had alot of potential also before DC...He just needed confidence....Dr. Phil could have done that for a:crazy: whole lot less....

Cutcliffe is average at best and average sure didn't cut it today. I remember when he was here before leaving for Ole Miss, fans complaining about his play calling, conservatism, and being easy to read defensively. Ever remember Cut calling a 50 yard bomb out of our own endzone? We can't even run a 1 yard qb sneak effectively or execute a defensively unimpeded clean handoff from experienced veterans during the most important drive of the game...there's such a fine line between winning and losing that the intangibles make the difference: special teams, turnovers, penalties, sound fundamentals, 3rd and short yardage sucess, dropped passes and proper routes, key players making key plays, a balanced keep em guessing attack, the will to win, the swagger....Florida excelled and beat us in all the intangibles. Cutcliff is accountable for this....period. We used to win big games against teams similarly talented because we were more successful in these areas. We knew we'd have to score 40 or more to win today. We scored 14. Florida scored 14 without their offense even stepping on the field. This game today reminded me of the 1981 Georgia game I attended in Athens , a 44-0 (in the 3rd quarter) shellacking, where we were beaten so badly in every phase of the game. Dooley was gentlemanly enough to call off the Dawgs or they would have scored 70. This coaching staff, Cutcliffe included, are stubborn, outdated, old school has-beens without the origination and innovation needed to win in the new age of college football. Coaching dinosaurs like them, Loyd Carr, Bobby Bowden, Joe Pa, and even Tubberville, who i believe is at the cusp of his decline, will go by the wayside. Smashmouth "pro style" football is todays version of the single T or the wishbone. Florida's spread offense today had so many options and elements of surprise that was synonomous to the Taliban fighting the US Army with rocks and sticks, absolutely no way to win that battle. And they weren't looking to play field position or kick field goals. They were looking to score touchdowns period. It's truly scary how outclassed we were today. We didn't execute, we weren't prepared, we weren't confident, and i'm afraid we are in for a very long season.

WE are officially now a basketball school....It is a very real possibility we could finish last in the East. That's not pessimism, that's realism.

So, what about Cut? He's a dinosaur. Personally, I love dinosaurs. But I love the gratification of winning bigtime football games more.

Someone said it best above. Cutcliffe is an absolute wonder at teaching QBs. That isn't really debatable. However, his OC skills leave a bit to be desired.

Remember, nobody shed tears when he left in 1998.

New blood is good blood, even if it produces similar 9-4 results.

In Cut's defense, dont forget that the defense didnt do the offense any favors. Ut rarely had good field position and the D put all the pressure on the O to "keep up". Also, we were winning the time of possession at half despite the fact that we couldnt run.

That said, what has disappointed me in the lack of creativity. I thought we were so much more creative last year. Maybe its because he doesnt have nearly as much faith in his receivers. Whatever it is, I thought we'd see more plays with Lucas Taylor or Gerald Jones getting a direct snap, more plays were we try to go deep to our speed guys, more plays involving Coker.

post of '07...man I think kpt sucks...he's a middle school type bully divided into a well read sophomore but there it is...a team that sucks huge and e1 thinks they're great on the verge of success. This team is on the offramp to .....wait 4 it........wait 4 it.....Kansas State. A team who COULD beat anybody and will be 5-7. Bad coaching, fair talent, crappy schedule.

I couldn't have said it any better myself. Although, I am curious about one thing. If Cut is a dinosaur, are you an elephant? I ask because you clearly have a phenomenal, highly superior memory since you can remember the gratification of winning bigtime football games. That was eons ago at this point.

RE: Randy Sanders
Who cares? If I had the chance, I would have been honored to treat him like crap. A lot of the problems we are still having on offense can still be laid in his lap. You don't erase or change the culture of an entire offensive program that was allowed to disintegrate throughout a decade in short period of time. He's an obvious incompetent moron who should have never been given that responsibility and ruined many good caliber players and who knows how many good recruits we lost due to them not wanting to play for such an idiot. Anyone that would choose Rick Clausen over Eric Ainge as their starting quarterback is devoid of any semblance of football knowledge and judgement
