How does everyone feel about Chavis? IMO he is just as a conservative play caller as Fulmer. IF the Fulmer buyout/firing happens, does or should Chavis go with him?
I hope so.

Time to go as well. I have actually never been a big fan. I think we have had big talent that hasn't always been taken advantage of. Wish we were more aggressive.

He'll get exposed in the next couple of weeks when he actually plays some teams with decent offenses. He's been the beneficiary of playing UCLA, UAB, AUB, N. Ill, and a Florida team that scored what they needed to and then took their foot off the gas.

Chavis gets under my skin almost as much as Fulmer. I cannot stand his zone calls on ridiculous plays anymore. You would think that in a football game you get one section of it for a break of "ahh now i can watch smart football" but nope, not lately, the offense and defense make your hair fall out. It's so predictable! A few sparks of hope, but nothing to light a campfire with.

Majors was quoted as saying that Chavis has been saving Fulmer's job for the past 10 years.....wonder what he meant by that??? I'm guessing that Major's is saying that Fulmer is a terrible offensive coach........any thoughts????????

:fool:

I have no problems with Chavis. Yeah, the UCLA game was awful, but he's turned in some fine defenses over the past 14 years or so, and he's one of the best LB coaches in the game.

I like Chavis fine, but understand why others don't.

...And Fulmer won a National Championship in 1998. We can't keep justifying our coaching staff by rewrding them for ancient history. If we played UCLA tomorrow, Chavis would call the exact same defenses that he did
when we played them the first time. Time for a complete change.

Did I say he didn't need to go? No, I said I like him fine. Personally, if Fulmer goes, then I think they all need to go.

However, we've had competent defenses since 2001. Not as good as before, but competent. Certainly more consistant then our offenses, with or without the return of Cut.

If you read, I said "I understand why other's don't." Nowhere did I say that he should be kept.

A complete change would be nice, everyone on the same page with the some ideas of how and what to execute would be great. Seems to be working in Alabama and Ole Miss. And that pains me cuz I CANNOT STAND either team.

I wonder what defensive coaches would come IF the new change was made. Guess it would depend on the new head coach's style.
