Would he fit in at UT? He seems to be a truely coach and has really kept Vandy in some really close games. From what I hear he has lots of disipline too, no cussing on the field and all yes sir no sir. What do you think?

Johnson is a class act no doubt. I used to work with the staff at Vandy and all of them love him. He's a strong x's/o's coach, very disciplined...gets the most out of his talent but I don't see being the Vols next coach.

being perpetually close and moral victories is hardly what we're after at the top of our program.

No way. Just couldn't see us going after a Vandy coach. We need a high profile energetic guy that signals we are back. That Saban hiring at Bama let everybody know Alabama was serious this time about winning championships. We have to get somebody on his level to compete with recruits and to compete for championships. Foolmer is possibly the lowest profile, non-fiery coach among the big boys in the SEC that's got to change.

Have you seen him when he gets mad? He looks like he's about to bust an O ring. We don't need Vanderbilt rejects. We can do much better. We will do much better.

With bobby johnson as our HC we loose to UF 30-24 and not fumble the ball and commit dumb penalties.

That is 100% on the mark...the days of moving somebody up ala Fulmer for the big schools is over with. Thats why I say that Stoops is the number one guy on the list.

Laugh all you want but Stoops got the taste of SEC ball, the money will be there and Stoops may have the nads to get back into the grinder and see if he can really be all he can be.

It's simple, UT has to go after a big name, and one that can recruit...not that many out there folks. Stoops, Davis etc... Petersen is a great in vogue choice...but can he recruit the entire USA...I don't know.

One problem: You said we lose. I don't like thoughts of ever losing to Florida. No good to me if he settles for second place.

One point - I didnt do a good job of getting my point across.
We dont get killed but we play tough.
I dont want B Johnson either

I dont think UT would go after him, simply cause as others have stated hes not a big enough name.

Having said that, you cant argue that he does MORE with LESS talent that almost anyone in the SEC. One does have to wonder what he could do with even/superior talent.

Don't care for playing tough and losing. We played tough Sat. and lost. I need W's. At all times I need wins just playing tough equals mediocrity in my eyes.

Bobby is a great coach but I would like to see us with a younger guy. He is certainly going to be recieving some calls though.

Don't feed the Vandy fans' egos by talking about UT going after their coach. If we hire Bobby Johnson, I may have to change allegiances.

Bobby Johnson will probably be getting plenty of calls from Clemson about their head coach vacancy at the end of the year. I think he played for Clemson or is at least from the area anyway.

The only think that is tainting Bobby Johnson's name is the schools that he is associated with. If he takes Vandy to a bowl this year, the sky is the limit for him.

Maybe not---Tommy Bowden's buyout is bigger than fulmer's and Clemson can't afford it. They just signed him to a long term deal (dumb).

Have you seen Stoops salary? We can't even come close to that. Why would Stoops leave a national powerhouse for less money? Just to coach in the SEC? Doubt it. Love to see him here, but just won't happen.
