What a Shame!!

If I was Jackson, Edwards, and Richardson, I would say screw you bastards and get my life together!

All of you who think they are terrible people because they gave your precious UT football a bad name, in the words of Biggie Smalls "Get a Grip, M^%$&!"

This Rant and dose of Reality was brought to you by a person who hope Jackson, Edwards, and Richardson become success stories while these ignorant "female dogs" realize their own lives are more than Vol Footbal!!!

While I agree with what you're saying 1000%, but come on Freeze couldn't you have used a better choice of words? That kind of talk doesn't help the cause bro!!

You right but I said it and I will live with it! Just like these 3 kids who recommit to Christ now has a better chance to overcome their trangressions. I can say a curse word and am considered soapbox hypocritical preacher. Moses kills a man and leads a nation out of bondage. Point is God can use a man with flaws to get His glory.

The ones I am referring to are the same fans like myself who was ecstatic when they came here but My life is predicated on ut football! I heard a man say "always comfort the afflicted and afflict the comfortable!" I am trying to but this situation in the right perspective. If I was one of the three involved, my words in my first post would be my exact sentiments. I could care less if you talk about me because I don't with none of you nor am I the father of anyone on here!

Not talking about ya just reminding you that as ambassadores of Christ we are to walk and talk as Jesus did. No I'm not perfect either and make mistakes too. Come on Man of God!! You're better than that. Don't forget Eph 4:29 man. Again not trying to bash or humiliate you.

You may want to make sure you understand what happened before you rant about it. It may be no better in the eyes of the law, but none of them tried to rob a convenience store. Two of them tried to rob some guys sitting in a car outside. Like I said, it doesn't make it less bad, but it makes your rant seem a bit silly when you're that wrong.

Alright I fixed the details. Thanks for correcting me btw.

These players make a mistake and one may have no part or knowledge of what happened when it did."

Oh, he knew what was going on. Walked up to the car and said, "We've got to go" to the other two hoodlums. Wanted to leave with them didn't he? If he had no knowledge of what was happening why didn't he WALK back to the dorms instead of hopping in the getaway car with them?

"What a shame they are outcasts and they broke our hearts! What? They going to the same fans who cheered them Sat. against Memphis and wanted them run out of town by Thursday? QUOTE]

You want creeps like this in your town? You want trash like this representing your university? Isn't it a dirty shame folks are going to have to resort to this :machgun: to protect themselves from being robbed or harmed?

I'm from Memphis so creeps as you are calling them, are in great abundance! I know you all cannot believe people resort to crime because they have no choice, can't get a job, dropped out of HS to feed their family because dad is gone and mama high. These three are not in this situation but many are and are wrote off as soon as they are born. When born with a silver spoon or somewhat of a stable home, you won't believe people will do such thongs! What a shame!

Then articulate it better then, instead of acting like some screaming preacher from a pulpit. Kind of interesting your choice of an avatar as well, Boondock Saints??

Did my response meet you articulation standards? I am man enough to stand by myself but I do apologize for the references to profane language but the essence and purpose of the thread is still right.

i already indicated that the best news i had all week came out of the fca gathering thursday night. I think some fans were frustrated and concerned and not everyone unfortunately approached it as they should. It really bothered me that nuke was sitting in jail because he couldn't come up with the bail money. I think herein lies part of the problem. I don't think that he had a good family support system.we will keep on praying for these young men and hope that they get their lives turned around. You of course are correct in much of what you have laid out, but please don't throw the 90% of us who agree with you under the bus along with the 10% who showed less empathy and compassion.

Point well taken! I ewas hoping these thread would start those like your self to speak a little louder. Other toned down threads like this one started the same time as mine? Coincidence? I don't think so!

I care about people. I hope that these young men were sincere in their repentance and that they grow to become true servants for the Lord.

However, Coach Kiffin is not running a mission for wayward young men. He is running a football team. It is not his job to lead them to victory in Jesus, but to much more mundane eartly victories.

Are the people on VolNation being judgemental and condemning? Yes. But this is not a Sunday school bulletin board, it is a football board. The concerns expressed here are based upon the passion for the Tennessee Volunteers, not love for the Lord.

The sad part is that the thoughts expressed here are probably the same ones that will be in pews on Sunday morning.

The Good Book says, "Judge not that ye be not judged...", so I am not putting myself in judgement over these young men. However, it also says, "Ye shall know them by their fruits...".

So I'm not a judge, I'm a fruit inspector. Let's hope that the fruit produced from today on is "worthy of repentance."

I was going to post my thoughts but yours pretty much says everything I was going to. But I will say this to some of the posters. Almost all ministers have a different way of delivering their message. That may be Gods way of reaching everyone. But Jesus himself was not the milquetoast effimenant most movies and yes ministers make him out to be. He was very plain spoken and wrathful when confronting hypocracy, injustice or faithlessness. And as rockytopcove is saying judging and Good judgement are two different things.

I was ecstatic when the chose this school, as well, but they have a responsibility to this university, to their team, to their coaches, and to themselves. To be human is to err, but don't come on here calling people hypacrits, when you yourself are one. No man that i know, proclaiming to be a man of the cloth, uses the language that you do.[/QUOTE]

How am I a hypocrite for saying what most level, realistic people would say? I also said those who are condemning these three guys are wrong? You can be a hypocrite for telling the truth? You a CLOWN!!!

I'm sure there are those out there that intend to do harm to members of society that concentrate on being good citizens, that want to live a respectable life, that want to do no harm to others and do have to work hard for an HONEST living because they were not born with a silver spoon in their mouth. I also believe you when you say there are those that lurk about preying on individuals that are traveling through life trying to make ends meet in spite of the government and in spite of individuals like these three.

You are right it is a shame but I see it in a different light than you. We have no choice but to prepare ourselves for the warfare that thugs have brought onto the streets. I don't want to shoot anyone but it has came down to us or them. This whole thing has been a wake up call for me. Moral: I'm going to be packin' my Glock.

Good Lord people. These are 18 year old kids hanging out with a 22 year old woman. Their decisions have nothing to do with race or poverty...not at all.

"It" starts wars, and "it" makes people pull C02 guns. "It" makes the world go round.

So how would you feel if you killed 3 kids who were probably just goofing off. I understand the feelings though. I'm just saying if we all turn into hairtrigger vigilantes some people are going to get hurt who dont really deserve it. Unless you think people with pellet guns committing petty crime deserve the death penalty.

If this is a football board only, why are the masses commenting on Edwards and Jackson giving their life back to the Lord? That is on hear so put that in your fruit and smoke it!

When I brought football players to church with me, I was saddened that they were treated like race horses and not people

Hey, give me a free education, the chance to wear the Orange, run through the T and play in Neyland, and perhaps be eligible for millions of dollars in the NFL, and you can treat me like a racehorse anytime! :p

No I think they are terrible people because they walked into a convenient store and attempted to rob it at gun point. They did not just simply "make a mistake." You make mistakes on your check book balance. They didn't "mistakenly" stay out past curfew. They didn't "mistakenly" walk into that store and rob it. They made a conscious choice to do that. They made that choice out stupidity and selfishness. Now they need to pay the price.

I'm glad they've turned their life over to Christ (if true). However that doesn't diminish the gravity of their behavior or it's consequences. It also doesn't change how I feel about them personally, nor my desire for them to no longer be a part of this program! If their lives have truly changed and they are now servants of God.....great! However I prefer them to serve God on another campus!!

In the end, I trust that Kiffin will make the right decision.

With the idiotic statements like the one you just made shows why Christians are looked at as a joke and no longer a movement! You know murderers, adulters, thieves wrote the Bible? God's grace and inspiration is why it is God's Word and not our word.

There has been great debate over paying college football players. I wish there was a way to do it. (Please don't pull the free education stuff).

The facts:
A: There is no way to regulate it once you start it
B: If you come to any SEC school and keep your nose clean, if you can spell your name, you have a six figure job waiting for you once you graduate.

That mentality is why Pacman, T. Henry, etc. Get into mess. You never heard Bill Russell, Jim Brown, or Muhummad Ali getting into mess but were criticized for being men

Does it give people the right to bad things just because they aren't born with a silver spoon in their mouth? Tired of the excuses, my man...they know between right and wrong. These kids had everything in place to be successful. What's a shame is that these kids had a oppurtunity to make something of themselves and blew it....very sad.

pastorfreeze = convenient christian

This a person that only quotes the Bible when it's convenient for them. These are the people are blatantly breaking every commandment, but see nothing wrong in pointing the finger at everyone else.

I was replying to someone else. The quote sigs are coming up wrong on my page now for some reason. I think we are on the same side in this one. My point is we should not shoot first and ask questions later. I personally would not want some kids who were just showing off (as stupid as that is) blood on my hands. Do they need punishment YES. But it should be appropiate to the situation.

Mr. McGill, if you point a gun or something that resembles a gun at someone that occurrance has just turned into a life and death situation. You have just been forced to pull the trigger or be shot yourself. Sorry, that is as serious as it gets and is not 'goofing off'.

I don't want to shoot anyone and I don't want anyone pointing a gun at me, attempting to rob me or do me or my family harm. We also do not want individuals like this (or the fired coach we had that allowed this stuff) representing UT.

Its way too serious, folks. With all the druggies out there breaking into people's homes and stealing everything that an entire family has worked for all their lives what has been the result? People are now armed and ready to protect themselves. Isn't it sad that all of us are going to have to go packin' where ever we go?
