These players make a mistake and one may have no part or knowledge of what happened when it did. What a shame they are outcasts and they broke our hearts! When Ward said "GIve Him 6" what food was put on my table? Vols defeat the Gamecocks, what did that do to put a roof over my family's head? These young men are involved in something that has elevated out of football and their lives are at stake. Most of you are mad because our chances to beat Ole Miss are lessen. Who gives a crap about the game? I want my team to win but I am not going to jump off the bridge if they lose. These kids give their life to Christ and most of you hyopochristians or atheists say it's too late? If the blood runs warm, it's never too late to commit to the Lord. This situation is no longer about football, its about their LIFE!!! They need Jesus to make it now. What? They going to the same fans who cheered them Sat. against Memphis and wanted them run out of town by Thursday? They care what we think, do we put air in their lungs or blood in their viens? If I was Jackson, Edwards, and Richardson, I would say screw you bastards and get my life together! All of us weren't doing a thing for them but buying tickets and watching them in a game! They wouldn't know you if they saw you on the street so I hope they could care less about you opinion and judgement! I applaud them for rededicating themselves to God and pray they use their testimony to tell the MILLION other individuals in their situation! This no longer has nothing to do with football but now their fighting not playing for their lives! All of you who think they are terrible people because they gave your precious UT football a bad name, in the words of Biggie Smalls "Get a Grip, M^%$&!"

This Rant and dose of Reality was brought to you by a person who hope Jackson, Edwards, and Richardson become success stories while these ignorant "female dogs" realize their own lives are more than Vol Footbal!!!

This thread is not about guilt because the court as well as America are to presume innocent until proven guilty! I am minister but my name is not Jesus so yeah I mya use choiced words but so did Peter but the Pentecost still occured! This is a cry to the sinless, self righteous, hypocritcal football fans more worried about a BCS championship instead of the life of a human being. The reason for this thread were to address the individuals who speaks for God so those who ask for forgiveness have to go through Volnation before the throne of God. You must be one of those hypocrites I am refering to because Guilt and Punishment is determined in the court of law and NOT Volnation!

We don't know all the facts, and probably won't for some time. Just let it play out, that's the best advice I can give anyone at this point. It's nothing we as fans can control, so I'm not really that worried about it. I have to take care of mine, just as they have to take care of theirs. Also, coming on to a message board to point out people as hypocrites, doesn't exactly make you look like a pastor who cares about others. Instead it makes you look like your trying to go at people and make them look bad. People do that very well themselves and don't need you to do that for them. They are responsible for their transgressions, not you. Seems to me that maybe you should worry about the sheep you have instead of trying to tend to a flock that is not your own. This is all my opinion of course.

The ones I am referring to are the same fans like myself who was ecstatic when they came here but My life is predicated on ut football! I heard a man say "always comfort the afflicted and afflict the comfortable!" I am trying to but this situation in the right perspective. If I was one of the three involved, my words in my first post would be my exact sentiments. I could care less if you talk about me because I don't with none of you nor am I the father of anyone on here!

Thank God for the pastors who acknowledge that these young men need Jesus and need to take responsibility for their own actions. When I brought football players to church with me, I was saddened that they were treated like race horses and not people. I do not think the cursing was necessary and I think you may mean Paul and not Peter (I count it all !@#$ in the Greek) but I understand what you are saying.

We need to care about these guys as people.

you must think that sticking a gun in someones face and saying give me your money, was all in fun?just boys being boys ? must have been a joke because they were laughing while it went down? Why don't we just forgive and forget that kind of action? I think they will just get a slap on the wrist and a don't do it again, pretty please, that will deter a lot of people from doing the same thing, don't you think? If a message board makes a pastor use "choiced words",where you do have a option to delete it before it's posted,What could the world be coming too?

This thread was to show people to look at this sitution like you are! When I posted this thread, I had jusyt read the comments about Edwards and Jackson repenting and giving their lifer to the Lord. All I have read on here is they were wrong so it is too late, trying to pull the God card to get back on the field. Those types of comments about MY GOD and how he forgives had to be addressesd! For those upset about my confrontational approach, Jesus flipped tables confronted the sellers at the temple, Elijah confronted the prophets of Baal, Paul confronted crooked churches, Ghandi confronted India corrupt gov., Dr. King confronted segregation, etc. Pastors are not to stand for what's legal or popular but what is Godly and Right! This is a sports board so send me a personal message and I will be willing to discuss it. If my references to bad words offended anybody, I apologize! But wrong is wrong no matter whose bone it's on! We need to quit judging these guys because we have no place in doing so!

Guilt hurt don't it! Never said they were right, just said we were wrong.

I have to agree that the facts need to be gathered first. Then Kiffin's decision needs to be met after mulling over the information. Kiffin seems to be level headed, and has handled things well so far (in the media)

I was ecstatic when the chose this school, as well, but they have a responsibility to this university, to their team, to their coaches, and to themselves. To be human is to err, but don't come on here calling people hypacrits, when you yourself are one. No man that i know, proclaiming to be a man of the cloth, uses the language that you do.

i already indicated that the best news i had all week came out of the fca gathering thursday night. I think some fans were frustrated and concerned and not everyone unfortunately approached it as they should. It really bothered me that nuke was sitting in jail because he couldn't come up with the bail money. I think herein lies part of the problem. I don't think that he had a good family support system.we will keep on praying for these young men and hope that they get their lives turned around. You of course are correct in much of what you have laid out, but please don't throw the 90% of us who agree with you under the bus along with the 10% who showed less empathy and compassion.

I care about people. I hope that these young men were sincere in their repentance and that they grow to become true servants for the Lord.

However, Coach Kiffin is not running a mission for wayward young men. He is running a football team. It is not his job to lead them to victory in Jesus, but to much more mundane eartly victories.

Are the people on VolNation being judgemental and condemning? Yes. But this is not a Sunday school bulletin board, it is a football board. The concerns expressed here are based upon the passion for the Tennessee Volunteers, not love for the Lord.

The sad part is that the thoughts expressed here are probably the same ones that will be in pews on Sunday morning.

The Good Book says, "Judge not that ye be not judged...", so I am not putting myself in judgement over these young men. However, it also says, "Ye shall know them by their fruits...".

So I'm not a judge, I'm a fruit inspector. Let's hope that the fruit produced from today on is "worthy of repentance."

No I think they are terrible people because they walked into a convenient store and attempted to rob it at gun point. They did not just simply "make a mistake." You make mistakes on your check book balance. They didn't "mistakenly" stay out past curfew. They didn't "mistakenly" walk into that store and rob it. They made a conscious choice to do that. They made that choice out stupidity and selfishness. Now they need to pay the price.

I'm glad they've turned their life over to Christ (if true). However that doesn't diminish the gravity of their behavior or it's consequences. It also doesn't change how I feel about them personally, nor my desire for them to no longer be a part of this program! If their lives have truly changed and they are now servants of God.....great! However I prefer them to serve God on another campus!!

In the end, I trust that Kiffin will make the right decision.

Sometimes a person has to get to the lowest part of the valley before they can get out of it! Hopefully this is a huge wakeup for these 3 kids.

You may want to make sure you understand what happened before you rant about it. It may be no better in the eyes of the law, but none of them tried to rob a convenience store. Two of them tried to rob some guys sitting in a car outside. Like I said, it doesn't make it less bad, but it makes your rant seem a bit silly when you're that wrong.

These young men are very fortunate that they didn't run into someone with a concealed carry permit and a pistol. When you choose to pull a gun out rob someone in Tennessee, there's a very good chance you could end up dead.
I am a Christian but I also carry my pistol everywhere to help protect myself and my family.
I sincerely hope these young men have learned their lesson and go on to contribute to society. Still, there are consequences for our poor decisons.
Seems to me they need some adult leadership and role models to follow. But then again...what do I know?

Oh, he knew what was going on. Walked up to the car and said, "We've got to go" to the other two hoodlums. Wanted to leave with them didn't he? If he had no knowledge of what was happening why didn't he WALK back to the dorms instead of hopping in the getaway car with them?

You want creeps like this in your town? You want trash like this representing your university? Isn't it a dirty shame folks are going to have to resort to this :machgun: to protect themselves from being robbed or harmed?
