What a draft by the Titans!

I doubt Rusty or Mariani make the team. Great draft?? I think not.

Rusty's your future backup; he's going to be kept around b/c an old man like Kerry Collins can't play forever and Simms isn't any better or a backup

Mariani will have to fight his way onto the team, but seriously how many 7th round picks turn into sound players, either immediate or not

Agreed.

I'm in the minority but I think Mariani will actually make the roster, I know he played for Montana but the guy has above average skills in the return game and could be in the mix for the job along with Williams.

Myron Rolle was a steal. Solid draft by the Titans. Now they need to add some free agents.

You're insane. Had Marlon come out last year he would've been a 1st -3rd round pick by every account. He did everything right at FSU and was a leader on that team. The guy has all the physical skills in the world. 3rd team All-American in '08, 2nd team All-ACC. Average players do not post games like the following: 4 tackles (2 touchdown saving tackles), 1 tackle for loss, 4 pass breakups, 1 sack, 2 quarterback hurries and 3 critical 3rd down stops. And that was in a rivalry game against a good Miami team.

On researching it a little more, the question was whether he was committed to the game enough after taking the year off. I don't get the concern though. I don't know many that would pass up the opportunity to study at Oxford free for a year.

Again, the concern is where his devotion lies. Judging by how well he balanced football with academics at FSU, I don't think there will be any motivation issues. The draft is finicky like that though.

1. Who is Marlon?
2. A 4.68 40 time at the combine is quite slow for a Safety. So I am not sure which physical tools you are referring too. Good hips?

I think the Titans did ok overall. I like some of the pick ups but from watching the draft and the players taken within four or five picks in front of them I got the feeling that many of the picks they would have liked to have made were scooped up before they were on the clock.

Myron Rolle was not a first round caliber player last year.

Myron Rolle was on 3 Hour Lunch on 104.5 The Zone today and said that he was given a first round grade last year. Now we all know that doesn't mean he would have went in the first, but I would think he would have at the very least been drafted. After further thought I think I like him.

Lol, what's not to like? Seriously, a physically gifted football talent in his own right, who is also a Rhodes Scholar? Nothing like it.

Titans will keep 3 QBs this year IMO. Smith should have a very good chance to make the team. Mariani will make the team if he impresses in the return game. That's the only reason he's here.

On Myron Rolle, he has all the physical ability necessary to play safety and then some. Being out of football for a year obviously hurt him, but he is not a 4.7 player.

Great draft but why Rusty Smith?

As had been said a few times already (lol), future backup to develop - think Billy Volek

they want a decent backup for the future, Kerry Collins is too old to expect to be a long term back-up, and Chris Simms isn't going to end up #2 spot material

Alterraun Verner will be a #3 corner if not a starter he is a bad dude, watch

Maybe but I think Rod Hood or Tye Hill start the season as the guy opposite of Finny. To lesser extent I think McCourty or Mouton could make a serious challenge for the other starting job before Verner.

yeah i think Hood starts at the beginning of the season -- though that might or might not be a good think; though I do think eventually Verner can, at the very least, make a strong push in his career and get the nickelback position at worst

(course I also don't know much about some of these corners from the draft)
