14 more scholarship players would make. I believe we have 71 thanks to the transfer portal that favors the Bama’s of the NCAA. We are a really good QB, a few WR’s that can catch the damn ball, and a little more depth along both lines from really competing and winning consistently.

I think we may have a few more. I don't think that number includes COVID extra year numbers. Whatever the case, we have enough receivers to catch a ball thrown into their hands. Might see a new receivers coach next year.

Depends on how good those players are.

we only need a QB, a better offensive line, receivers that can catch, a dependable kicker, some pass rushers, a little better rush defense and a younger smokey that growls more. Glory days are coming:)

I started a similar thread. It’s a great way to tell which fans know what they’re talking about.

If we had a QB who could consistently hit their target, we would most likely be 3-1, with three blowouts and a close loss to UF at the swamp. Everyone needs to get on board with Coach Hype. He has had guys running WIDE open all over the field in every game. There is a QB out there that’s going to see that and jump on board. I have little doubt about that.

And that they have major issues with the 71 they do have.

I think the point is with 14 more those major issues are probably masked or at least mitigated. With 14 more do we have a receiver that can catch it, or a couple more guys on the LOS? I think so.

UT is just a program lost in the woods that will never make it out. As a college football fan it kills me to not have any hope but I keep coming back.

If Hooker started Pitt we are 3-1. Hooker isn't top 10 but he's played good enough to get us some wins and keep us in games if the rest of the offense does their job.
Jackson is supposed to be coming to UT. TN needs to find a good #2 QB from another D1 or JUCO to back Hooker up next season, let Jackson learn the system. The year after the solid #2 gets a shot at #1, Jackson moves to #2 or if ready Jackson takes the helm

70, CFA entered the portal a couple of days ago.

We could use a few great OL, LBs, another Lockdown CB and a top 20 QB

I think if Hooker started Pitt or Milton played the whole game we would have won. But Hooker without getting the lions share of snaps in the week leading up the game made him a little rusty at times.

The team competed and fought until the dropped fourth down pass. Aside from Joe demonstrating he can thrown 20 rows up in the stadium, this year's team is better than last year's team. Leaving Mays in too long was concerning, this is a game, he could barely walk and should have been pulled. That and stupid penalties are on the coaches. I seem to remember running "goat trails" in the stands/stadium when I did something stupid during a game. I've been a fan since visiting UT in 1972 to see my aunt who was a grad student. Last night dredged up many, many bad memories of the Old Ball Coach owning us for years but I do think there's light at the end of the tunnel and it's not a train!
