The 2nd-team RB .... Rodney Hammond ... is reportedly out 3-6 weeks with a high ankle sprain. He was the leading rusher in the WVU game - but he isn't technically the starter. But this is a significant loss, because Hammond is a dynamic back who can move the pile.Heard something about right tackle and maybe RB out.

Deslin Alexandre ... the started right DE ... is questionable, but the rumor is that he is going to play. This isn't as big of a blow, because his backup ... John Morgan III .... was the defensive player of the game for Pitt last Thursday, and DLine is the area where Pitt has the most depth.
The only two that matter are Hammond and Alexandre. The others aren't even the best at their position, and their loss only means a loss in some depth. You can go look at Pitt's football forum "Panther Lair". There are 4-5 guys they are talking about that are questionable to play. Forgot all the names but Hammond, Deslin Alexandre, George, and a few others were mentioned.
fake news! LB Brandon George, who missed the WVU game, is a difference maker. Especially given that some of WVU's huge runs were due to LBs being out position and taking poor angles. George is a veteran who knows his assignments and is a strong tackler. The only two that matter are Hammond and Alexandre. We agree to disagree. I think George is a liability. Especially in pass coverage.fake news! LB Brandon George, who missed the WVU game, is a difference maker. He's definitely out. Probably for a month.Worth noting that Hammond carried the ball 16 times for 74 of Pitt's 78 rushing yards. He accounted for almost half of the Panthers 38 rushing attempts (including Slovis' 7 sacks/attempts).
Also worth noting Hammond accounted for 55 receiving yards on 2 receptions of the Pitt 308 total.
That's a big blow if the young man is out.
Hope he gets better and has a good season, but glad he’s out vs us. They’ll be more one dimensional and it’ll make it easier on our D.Worth noting that Hammond carried the ball 16 times for 74 of Pitt's 78 rushing yards.
