What’s going on with David Sanders?

My guess is . . . He doesn’t play at all this year. Why? It takes a good while for a nerve issue to heal. But IF he does play . . . It won’t be until the Bama game . . . Which is probably not ideal for his first experience of playing time?
People should also keep in mind that any of these players that have missed significant practice & game time are unlikely to return to top-level ability. Basically, these guys are rehabbing so they can be the "next man up" in case the guy ahead of them gets hurt.

I'm sure the medical staff is keeping tabs on things, but I wonder too if he's not aggravating by trying to work out so he stays in shape?
MOST times, aside from PT, the best remedy for nerve damage is rest and immobilization.

There is no such thing (reputable chiropractor).
I beg to differ.
In my experience, doctors and chiropractors, both can be excellent or poor.
I know a chiropractor who refused a patient treatment and told them to go see their doctor because they had a case of shingles. Chiropractor was correct!
I know a doctor who told a patient that their back pain was a result of back surgery. The doctor persisted in his conclusion for 3 years ...until finally my wife stepped in and demanded a 2nd opinion. It was bone cancer.
Just because you are sure ... does not necessarily make it true.

This can happen. Coming back from an injury can set players back.

Most injuries involve multiple processes. Recovery, rehabilitation, conditioning and strengthening. Any of these can introduce setbacks and delay availability.

If he was my son, I'd tell him to rest/recuperate this year and be maximum-ready for his 2nd of 3 year life at UT. Strive for the Outland in year 2 / win it in year 3.
I would tell him: Wait 'til the med/training staff thinks you are ready, AND you feel you are ready, then, get your a** on the field and show them who you are! 🤔

I don’t understand why you idiots can’t grasp that a football player is injured and come up with all these alternate theories. Y’all did the same garbage last year.
I don't understand blaming the fans when this has pretty clearly been either gamesmanship or just deceptive messaging. There was never any sort of indication when he was ruled out for week 1 that this would be an injury that would keep him out 4+ weeks. If you don't want the fans asking questions like this then you need to be upfront with the possible timelines.

Heupel doesn’t owe anyone anything except getting us ready to win games.

Need to be careful setting too high of expectations for high school players rated highly. Its fun to have that excitment but many times (Nico ring a bell?) it doesn't work out. Harrison Bailey? Jarrett Guarantano? Drew Richmond? Key Lawrence? I could go on and on...

its not just a Tennessee thing either. I can name hundreds from all across college ball. Until we see Sanders play at 100% healthy against SEC competition, there is no idea what we have.
The excitement is based on the fact that he’s one of our 5 best offensive linemen, as evidenced by the fact he won the job. And moving Perry to RG and Moe to LG over Sham improves the Guard play. Also gives us 2 true, prototype OTs (not that Perry hasn’t been fantastic there so far).

I wonder if he'll even start when healthy at this point. The o-line has only allowed a single sack all year and our run game is as good as usual. Not a lot of reason to mess with what works. I was concerned if Perry had the athleticism to keep up with SEC edge defenders, and he showed he could do that just fine vs Georgia.

A lot of offensive line play is about gelling/consistency. Messing with what has been an elite unit to date may not be wise.
