What’s the breaking point? Losses ?decommitments? Bad public perception?

Speaking of decommits, the ONE commit Tennessee absolutely could not lose, Cade Mays.....just decommited.

Can't believe it took him this long to announce it.

Sucks when a legacy recruit who obviously loves the program sees the writing on the wall before the athletic director and can actually make a decision .

Sure am glad Currie wants to let a lame duck coach, who is no longer recruiting, to hang around and potentially finish this season. What a slap in the face to this fanbase.

It really is. No excuse for Currie's inaction and silence. His silence is deafening.

Its Currie that is taking this to the fires of hell. While recruits continue to drop like flies he does nothing. If he wants...like an idiot. .to keep butch..then announce it and save this class as best he can. But if he is really waiting to base the decision on whether Butch can beat Vandy and/or Missouri? Then that is preposterous...and we are screwed beyond belief.

At what rate? They haven't hired anyone yet and we don't know that UT isn't already talking to Butch's replacement.

Exactly. We don’t know anything. We pay the bills. I have paid thru tickets and a child’s education. I think I deserve at least a statement by Currie that he has it under control or is working on it. Just something. He doesn’t have to tip his hand just give us something

But, all is great for the fans on this site and others that just want to go out for a nice day in the park and enjoy the beautiful scenery with room to stretch out in the stands, buy tickets for 10 bucks, and not have to listen to passionate fans that want to win. It's a great day for all those kind of TN/vandy fans around. Makes me sick!

It already hurts Tennessee football enough that we keep on losing commits, but for someone like Mays to decommit hurts more than just him coming to UT.

You have to realize now that other commits see that someone like Mays, who bleeds orange (or use too at least) doesn't even want to stay committed to Tennessee. What do you think they are thinking now?

Uncommitted 5 star OL recruit Jamaree Salyer has said the player he wants to play with the most in college is Mays. That would be huge if a team could get both of them. Guess where both of them were last weekend.... Georgia.

A lot more comes with Mays decommitting than just himself and I'm hoping the admin. will right right the ship.

Our OL has a lot of talent but can't open holes or pass block vs. Indiana State, Massachusetts or Southern Miss, let alone the SEC.

Mays is saying: get a NFL-caliber OLine coach or I'm out.

Currie doesn't have to say anything. Butch is under contract for next year. That can be his defense. But to ignore the media frenzy and speculation among the fanbase...students...recruits...etc etc...is blind idiocy. He's got to either come out in full support of butch...or make some kind of statement. To ignore the maelstrom surrounding the program is total incompetence. Recruits are dropping like flies.

I get this kid is a serious talent, but one recruit should not dictate our football program regardless of what state it’s in. He’s in high school and hasn’t done anything to deserve the kind of attention he’s getting.

Either they really do have a very big fish on the hook right now and they're following a close held strategy before dropping the bomb that put's everything in a 180, or nothing has changed but some names and faces in five years and they're just hoping and praying that we're all the undyingly loyal idiots that they believe us to be.

Have you been watching this season and how many recruits have dropped us? This is not just one kid speaking.

He is far from the first and won't be the last high caliber recruit to say no thanks to Jones and his infallible system.

The snake oil Jones has been selling has hit its expiration date.

When he can't hang onto a legacy recruit that would rather do nothing more than play for the Vols it's over on the recruiting front. And when it's over there, it's pretty much over for the program ever regaining any status in the college football landscape.

Ouch. This is not good news.

Time for action Currie.

I don't understand what it will take for Currie to at least address the situation and stem the bleeding. We just lost a kid who is a Knoxville native, a life long Vol fan, has parents who are Vol fans, and is a 5 star OT who lives in our own backyard. If we can't keep him on board, I highly doubt we can keep others.

My point is that I'm just not going to get too worked up with the whole "Currie is an idiot failure" at this point. I'm going to judge him on end results. I doubt anyone on this board has ever been over an athletic department but everyone knows better than the AD. I'm not saying he'll get it right or wrong, I'm just waiting until I have real results to judge him on.
