If the football and basketball players get paid, does title 9 go away? Do we shut down all the non revenue sports or do we raise ticket prices and/or taxes to pay for them? I'm curious how all that would work. If only the schools that have the revenue to support athletics continue to operate, will we lose conferences and schools from the conferences? I think there are a lot of problems that need to be worked through. I don't think anyone doesn't like the idea of a player getting revenue. I also don't think most like the idea of being the person that pays them. If we are going to pay the athletes, can't we just shut down the scholarships and let them play ball in a minor league setting and remove their affiliation with the school? Shouldn't high school players be paid as well? The sports in my high school don't survive without football revenue. That means the high school football team is profitable as well. Where is the line?
