No, I got told it was nonsense and I didn't know what I was talking about when the Lady Vols didn't recruit shooters and ended up not being able to shoot.

Who would have known that a team that brought in a 18% 3 point shooter from UCLA would have trouble shooting.

So, Texas fired Rick Barnes because he didn’t develop a team that won it all. Tennessee hired Barnes, and the men’s basketball program is resuscitated. Meanwhile, Texas still hasn’t won a national championship.

That’s because you don’t.
You just parrot what you think sounds cool and get all ass twisted when you get called out.
It’s ok that you’re upset at the Texas loss but it’s sad that you need to bring to spring others down to feel better about yourself

I made my comment about not being able to shoot based on my knowledge of the game and seeing those players at other schools. I made it first and several others in the EndZone have repeated made it after me.

And I'm in the minority here. I think Caldwell's system can work at this level. But you have find shooters and mesh together playing styles from the portal. She clearly has shown she can not and does not want to do that. There are chemistry issues that anyone with two eyes have noticed for weeks. @95 Vol Alum has pointed out their selfish play all year with the assist numbers.

Your five transfer portal recruits shot 23.8%, 18.2%, 20%, 31.20%, and 28.6% from 3 at their prior schools. They shot 60% of the threes for your team this year. Y'all, by far, led the SEC in 3s per season with 31 shot per game both years and most of them were shot by a player with a collegiate track record of poor shooting. Caldwell ran a similar scheme both years; the major difference is last year's team inherited a couple of decent shooters from Coach Harper and they graduated.

-You butted into a conversation about the portal that you knew nothing about. (The previous conversation was that it was killing the ability of coaches to work out problems over time) you thought it was a complaint about god knows what.
-the problem is mass migration. The cause is that Kim lied to kids and changed her system mid stream. She also kicked a leader off for weed at about the same time splitting the team. The mass migration has nothing to do with parroting percentages of shooters or whatever. It doesn’t take a genius to know you need people who can shoot to play a sport that requires shooting.
-I told you you didn’t know what you were talking about…..because you don’t. You still are clinging to this shooting nonsense that has nothing to do with why the team is imploding.

-I didn’t waste anymore time on it because you’re not having the conversation that I was and I don’t care anything about irrelevant stuff.

To review…..Kim isn’t in a dumpster fire right now because of shooting percentages. It’s about a serious personality conflict she caused and made worse

The bad results led to the change in style, which wasn’t that dramatic of a change to me as they still played isolation ball. I have no clue about the locker room, but this hockey line, short turns on the court style of basketball requires too much quality depth to beat elite teams. You don’t beat the high end of the bell curve with the middle of the bell curve bench and limiting the minutes of your high end players. JMO

It's all intertwined .

Your highly rated and talented freshmen are in the portal because your 4 non-shooting transfers plus your non shooting point guard with the overzealous dad got free reign and a green light to shoot whenever while the other freshmen barely got any playing time and got pulled when they first made a mistake.

And your system didn't change. That was her "coachspeak" in an attempt to try to deflect from the losing streak. You shot 31 3s per game both years. You had to slow down at times but that wasn't from a system change but more of a you can't run a trap when opposing guards are getting long rebounds on a 6 of 31 percentage from 3s. See, its all intertwined.

And the portal isn't the issue, which is what I said yesterday. The issue is the coach has to get the players to mesh with the system and culture. This is where she failed. She didn't get players that meshed with her style and the culture. That's why this is a dumpster fire.

It's hard to trap quick opposing guards getting long rebounds when you shoot 6/31 from 3. That was the "style change".

You could have asked what I meant instead of jumping the shark.
I never said that the portal was her problem. I said it’s ruining sports. The previous conversation with @82_VOL_83 was how it was preventing coaches the opportunity to fix problems. It’s also bad for the kids as it prevents growth when things don’t go your way.

Kim absolutely lost control of the team for several reasons. One you just mentioned that I had left out.
