I didn't say anything about the quality of WVU, I was just commenting on the guy who acts like Tennessee is some blue blood, always in contention program and WVU is some piss on.

You're 0-6 vs. OU. It didn't matter if you had Peyton Manning at QB, that was never close to a W.
Texas scored 28. If you couldn't score 28 vs. Iowa State, Kansas St, or TCU, why assume you'd score more than that vs. a better Texas defense?
Utah was up 30-6 when they pulled their starters. They had the best ranked defense of anyone you played last year. Again, you weren't scoring on them regardless (see also TCU, Iowa State, VT, KState)

Regardless of what happens on the field. Tennessee is a blue blood. Much like Texas, Michigan, and Notre Dame some programs will always have status, respect, and national recognition. The first step to being a blue blood is a national title. WVU realistically, will never win one. We have 6.

Man, a lot of my fellow Vol fans are more confident than I. Frankly I think it's a little early to be talking smack. I wish this first game was vs some patsy with an enrollment of about 5000. I'll be drop dead shocked if my Vols pull off this win but I'm hopin'. Our Vols are ten pt dogs at home.

Yes, the 2nd winningest program in the AP era with 6 national titles, 2nd most SEC championships, and the #1 SEC school in NFL draft picks isn't a blue blood.

Incorrect. That was my polite way of saying I don't think you're going to change your mind, so I'm not going to waste my time. If there was some wiggle room for us to debate and reach ground in the middle, sure I'm all for a discussion.

I really haven't.

USC, Ohio State, Alabama, Notre Dame, Michigan, Texas, and maaaaybe Oklahoma and Miami are the schools that I've heard considered Blue Bloods. Clemson is kind of a new school blue blood. Florida, Georgia, Florida State, Nebraska, etc. are 2nd tier, but not blue blood.

Those College Football News guys, and the Associated Press guys, though, they're all Tennessee homers. Show him someone who ISN'T a Tennessee homer who thinks we're one of the ten greatest college football programs of all time.

You should get to know more about the Florida schools. Not a single one of them--particularly Miami--is blue blood. All their history is recent.

Even the Florida fans agree with that.

On the flip side, you way under-value Oklahoma. They're one of the bluest of the blue bloods, alongside Alabama, Ohio State, and Michigan.

If you limited "blue blood" to 4 programs, those would be the four.

If you widen it to 10, Tennessee is definitely among the elite.

Not homerism, just fact.

Fair enough. Every fan base has those people though, just like the guy on the WVU board writing that cringe worthy fan fiction piece with play by play leading to WVU's 70 something to 20 win. That's been pasted on this board somewhere. You're more than likely getting the disrespect because you are saying things that people on the opposing team's fan message board don't want to hear, and most UT fans probably do not follow what WVU does in any capacity. I don't have a dog in the fight... graduated from both universities and also worked for both at some point. This will be a great game, although if they played 10 times I'd want UT to win 10/10.

Not sure what bruh means but ok,so anyway you can talk them up all you want but in another thread one of their fans said they have a permanent spot at the "big boy table" so they get that spot with a 3-0 BCS record since 2006 and a few 10 win seasons (where they play NOBODY week in and week out) but NO national championships ever, NO Power 5 conference championships ever. It's amazing watching some of our so called fanbase trash our own team to make someone else feel better

Our traditions and historical achievements are well documented. If Cinci or USF happened to get the call to join big boy football instead of WVU, and a fan came here with the same sentiment as this person, I wouldn't feel the need to respond in depth. I know plenty of WVU fans in person, and they're not this dense - this guy is probably fishing for some conflict. Any college football fan recognizes the power of the Tennessee brand. Coming off 4-8 we're giving WVU their first prime time CBS slot in history.

We each define the term however we wish.

On the other hand, you certainly included 8 or 9 teams in your earlier list (USC, Ohio State, Alabama, Notre Dame, Michigan, Texas, maybe Oklahoma and Miami, plus Clemson as new age).

I personally put Tennessee, Texas, Penn State and Nebraska at about the same tier. And I definitely think of all four as blue blood programs. Well above Miami and Clemson, for sure.

How is what I said "moronic"? it was my opinion we all have them.You went and googled west va football to come up with a few numbers to look good, and then talk about how long it's been since Tennessee won the national championship. I'll save you some time WV has none.

IMO the only reason WV is getting the pub they're is because of Grier and Stills. Outside of that the team overall is average at best. Vols win 37-34
