Belk because of recruiting. We have pulled some jewels out of that area and would love to start again.

Think that's why Butch wants Memphis for the recruiting side of it. Plus it gives fans in west chance to see the team. Memphis to Knoxville is a bad drive on regular basis!!!

Can the Fiesta, Cotton or Peach pick an SEC team? If I understand correctly, the Orange will pick an SEC team.

not the cotton. they host the NC game.

the others could but it depends on how things play out. Orange may not. they get the SEC champion if the SEC champion not in the playoff. So if Missouri beats Alabama, they would likely be in the Orange Bowl as SEC Champ.

Non-UT related, just an opportunity for a Rucker bash:

The worst thing to happen to Sports Journalism is social media and the rise of journalists showing their personalities via other media outlets.

80% or so of writers are narassistic, awkward and neurotic and should largely stick to strict reporting. Wes Rucker is a classic example.

Looking at his twitter feed, he's asking why would anyone want to go to a bowl game in Shreveport, going further to the point of asking "why not have one in Knoxville?".

.....nothing what I would call slanderous. I'd say they were actually decent questions.

Or the part why he ask why a bowl in Shreveport is allowed to exist in life.

It's funny that many want a "so-called" easy team. :eek:lol:
Whatever happened to anybody, anywhere, anytime.
Guess we're not ready for that yet? :whistling:

GO VOLS!

Disagree. ND has fans all over the country, and they travel as well as anyone.

Normally yes, but I gather their fan base is quite disappointed this season and NCSU is 2.5 hours away. I look at it like this, ND/UT might sell out, ND/NCSU WILL sell out. No doubt though, Belk will take ND if they can

This.^^^

A higher profile opponent would be nice but I personally would prefer an easier win, want to build all the momentum we can with lowest risk. jmo Atleast while we're still trying to build.
Regretfully, there are no easy wins for us right now

Thank you. He's the only UT beat reporter who does it to my knowledge.

Rucker spouts common sense opinions, retweets and argues with people who disagree with him, then brags about how he's always right when his obvious prediction comes true.

The only upside to playin in Memphis (Liberty Bowl) would be if we could draw Texas as te opponent!! I'd love to show em who the real UT is!![/Q

I would also love to show them who the real UT is but not with this team. I see their Dline living in the backfield. Give me someone we can beat and not get anyone hurt. I want to get to next year and get another talent upgrade.

Jerry's World hosts the CFP Campionship game on 1/12/15, but there is still a Cotton Bowl on 1/1/15.

And Shreveport is relatively close to Houston so I would go
