Maybe he realized that we needed a DE, and the fact that his friend is here just made him feel more comfortable? Just a thought

Seriously? If he was leaving to be closer to his dad then why would he choose UT? UT is just as far away from SoCal as UNC..... ?

That could just be his reasoning for wanting out. Surely he realizes if he came here he would see immediate playing time.

I read an article ealier today where UNC head coach Butch Davis was quoted as saying former Byrnes defensive lineman Brandon Willis was transferring to a school in California to be with his father. Davis intimated Willis' reason for living stemmed from the fact that his mother died.

I have since been told she passed away two years ago, and that really had nothing to do with Willis leaving Chapel Hill. He simply wanted to leave. His camp put out feelers to South Carolina and UCLA, but both staffs turned him down. So, he's headed to Tennessee to whom he was committed for some time prior to Lane Kiffin leaving for Southern Cal.

Likely pulling our leg.

He obviously only came to UT for what Kiffin told him. The transfer to UNC doesn't make any sense in my mind at all. This kid just doesn't seem to know what he wants.

Briefly on Brandon Willis ... Reply

Obviously he is indeed leaving UNC, and he's always had a strong liking for Tennessee. Plus it's close to his home and he clearly plays a position of dear need for the Vols.

No one has yet seen what stipulations Butch Davis will place on Willis' release, but obviously we're hearing that both UT and UCLA could be factors. We will continue to attempt to speak to the all the pertinent parties involved and update you as we can.

Also, please be careful who you source. I retweeted someone else saying Willis might head to Tennessee. I never said he would.

I read somewhere, cant remember the site, but it said that the reason Brandon didn't go to USC with ------ & Co. is because he didn't like the way Coach O presented the idea and just ditched Tenn.

If he said that then he is a hypocrite big time.
