By the end of today's game, the Vols were down 9 starters from preseason camp and had about 60 scholly guys — including planned redshirts.

A couple of Dooley comments:


Dooley: "They outplayed us at every position. We really didn’t do anything well. I don’t know what else to say. We’ve got a lot of issues.”

Dooley, at his most frustrating moment, thought about telling the Vols, "Do something that resembles anything."

I like it. At least he knows we suck. Phil would have clapped, patted the players on the back, and said "We'll work like heck to get better."

This is a tremendous part of the problem, in addition to how many freshmen, transfers, & walk-ons we are having to rely on while facing enormous pressure from us the fans (an extraordinarily passionate group, I might add) plus a new coaching staff getting use to each others' styles/preferences, trying to establish some chemistry & familiarity with each other. Relax, today was horrible, but we are TENNESSEE. We don't give up, not ever. We will be back with the big boys in the top 25 before long, winning championships not long after. This is a guarantee!

There is no way Bray can be as bad as Simms.It wont surprise me if Bray indeeds transfers.Simms does his usual thing and thats stare down WRs and doesnt either know when or how to throw the ball away.Id much rather lose with Bray getting the reps and experience than watch Simms lose and look pathetic.

you will get a chance to see before Halloween. No way Simms, and likely Bray, survives October.. Nance will be QB in November

I know Simms wasn't perfect but come on, you can't put our bad performance on him today. Our tackling was horrible and the offensive line gave him no time at all. This game Simms did not play all that bad.

The only problem with your arguement is that we didn't lose today. And the recievers played worse than simms.

I like Dooley comments, why run from it. OUR fans need to realize the current status and think long term and not after every play call for his head. Vince Lombardi could not do any better with the gang. If it is like this in 2 years, then run him out of town.

Who are the 9 starters he is referring to? Will we get anyone back by next week? Will GJones make it back in October?
