Wes Rucker just said on 104.5........

It seems like people would rather Tennessee lose to get rid of Dooley than Tennessee win and keep Dooley.

Im sure if there are that is a very small group.

Most people realize his ceiling is 7 or 8 wins here and don't think that acceptable.

Well if we lose to UA and USCe, then a possibly losing to Mizzu, that would the 6, then consider vandy (as bad as I hate to say it) an L, that is 7 so either way I think he is gone and hope he is gone.

If UT won out, there would be enough evidence to suggest that even a blind squirrel finds an acorn from time to time. Dooley's ability to lead, manage, and coach have been on display for a while now. No need to think any of that would change just because we manage to get lucky against the rest of the teams on the schedule after we've already taken ourselves out of any possible title race. He gotta go no matter what.

The chances of UT winning out are abysmally small, but if it were to happen, there's no way they fire him. To think otherwise is foolish. You'd fire a 9-3 coach that beat the number one team in the nation and lost to three ranked teams?

Again, this is putting the chances of it happening aside.

Doesn't matter this team will not beat Vanderbilt unless something drastic changes on defense. At least we won't have to see another embarrassing mosh pit celebration from Dooley this year. I just don't see this team fired up and ready to play like Vandy will be. Plus it's a given we will be out coached. No I don't carry water for Franklin like some but still against Dooley and Sal I give him a huge advantage.

Personally, I would love to win out. Doesn't mean I would want Dooley here next year though. In my opinion, the guy has shown us all we need to see. Any big wins at this point could be ruled out as anomalies in my book. I'll be praying for upsets over Alabama and USC while simultaneously hoping Dooley is shown the door.

It's unlikely that those games would seal his fate.

Really ? You actually think beating ky,vandy,Troy,Mizzou will save Doofeys job? All 4 of those games is a toss up. After Bama and USCe beats Tn then a empty stadium will let you know if Dooley gets fired or not. 60 or 70k fans won't cut it.

Tell that to Mike Shula.

However, the question is if are willing to put another former coach on buyout payroll.

We are already paying:

Phillip Fulmer and Staff
Bruce Pearl and Staff
Todd Raleigh and Staff (possibly)
Lane Kiffin and Staff (possibly)

That is a lot of money that is being thrown away right now.

I don't think kiffins staff is being paid anything because they all went with him and making more money.
Fulmers staff is all employed ? and Fulmer comes off the books this year.
Pearls staff wasn't making a lot of money vs football staff neither was the baseball staff.

7-5 and Dooley still the Coach...... BS!!!!!!

UT will lose minimum of 3x the buy-out if they keep Dooley next year!!!!

Even if 5 million was added to Dooley's average salary over the last three years it would still be less that what Nick Saban makes.

I believe UT will lose more money keeping Dooley than replacing him now. However, I'm not confident that Dooley can either:

1. go 7-5; or
2. beat both Kentucky and Vandy.

Vandy may be tough, and I would not be surprised if the wheels don't fall off in November. I not "wishing" it, but starting 0-5 in SEC play, then if UT loses to either Troy, Missouri or Vandy, they may have a hard time keeping it together. Dooley doesn't thrive in adversity. We've seen this every year.

I have little confidence in Dooley, but I hope they win out. And UT does have the talent to win ever game in November.

I actually tend to agree that 7-5 will mean he's back next year.

And I also thinks 7-5 this year is pathetic, since this was the year so many were touting as "no excuses" year.
