Wes Rucker just said on 104.5........

I think MSU was a bad showing, and UGA was a winnable game lost. We controlled our destiny in the 4th qtr of both games, and we gave both games away to beatable teams. Disappointing losses like that, followed by ugly losses to Bama and SCAR, tend to set up a last straw type of situation, IMO.

The Florida game was a pretty bad showing as well and on a bigger stage.

It is still shocking to me that more folks don't realize how very, very bad 7-5 is against this year's schedule with this team.

If Dooley is retained after 7-5 this year (he won't be), then the decision makers will deserve every bit of the abomination that takes place next year.

So 7-5 with losses that at this point are against teams that are a combined 26-2 is a "very very bad" 7-5? Yeah that's a easy schedule.

That Dooley will return?

I'm not going to start playing the scenarios that lead to his ouster in my head. I'm just saying that I heard the same thing Rucker apparently is hearing and that a 7-5 season is likely to keep Dooley on board. Although nothing is guaranteed, that seems to be the most likely outcome with that record.

Lol, there you go again getting all wound up over nothing. There wasnt a jab there, sorry if you felt there was.

Dude, I'm making the turn. Not quite wound up.

Just asked a quarshen. You said you disagree often. I just asked what your disagreements were.

I think he's right too. It would be different if there was a homerun guy out there waiting to come to UT. There isn't.

Waiting?? No.

But if you don't think we could get someone better than Dooley, you're crazy.

We got a losing WAC coach due to the circumstances. No coach wanted to be the guy that screwed over their school at the last second like Lane. Dooley would have never gotten an offer or this opportunity if not for that. That was a rare situation. Give Tennessee time to court a real coach that has time to give their school notice, put a staff together and fill out a recruiting class... Tennessee can net better than a guy with a losing record in the WAC.

It all depends on if there is a big fish coach who is interested.

Can't just say 6-6 hes gone, or 7-5 he's gone.

Gotta have a replacement.

I guess we are all crazy to think that a loser will be fired for loser results because of supposed financial reasons.

I'm not saying a 6-6 season is out of the realm of possibility. And if that happens, I see Dooley getting the boot. But I'm not going to bank on it. All you can do is let the season happen and see what happens. It's not like Hart is firing him next week if we lose to Bama or the week after if we lose to USC.

Just don't think you can say it is unrealistic that he is not back at this point if they lose to bama and usce.

That is all.

Wins and losses are only part of the story. The other part is looking at improvement. Have we improved? Yes. In what areas? Talent, and nothing else. That is unacceptable. Time for a change.

It seems like people would rather Tennessee lose to get rid of Dooley than Tennessee win and keep Dooley.

Not me but given his record in the SEC and against ranked opponents, I expect him to lose against Alabama and South Carolina. 7-5 in his 3rd year isn't good enough.

He absolutely had enough talent to beat Florida at home and MSU anywhere. I always thought UGA would be a loss but he got pretty much all the breaks in that game and still lost. This is the SEC; it's never going to be easy, but this was the year and schedule to make hay. It will get much more difficult going forward.
