When I first heard he was having knee surgery, it kinda scared me to death. I'm not saying a torn meniscus is nothing at all to worry about, but it is definitely not the worst thing that could be wrong with a knee. I went to high school with a guy who tore his in basketball. He had his surgery in December a few days before Christmas and was back on the court the 2nd week in January...
I talked to him about this a few minutes ago and he said that football players don't have as much trouble recovering as basketball players do. He also said that Brown could be able to play when they take the stitches out after about 2 weeks, but I'm sure they will rest Wes for a couple of more weeks after that...
I'm not saying this is what is gonna happen, but I'm very relieved to learn that it is a torn meniscus and not nothing more serious...
But he went on to say that he had orthascopic surgery which is easiest. If they have to go in and actually repair the meniscus, it will take longer for him to heal. UT fans should really hope he has orthascopic surgery and not the other one. But either way he should be back by the time the season starts...
