Not sure everyone remembers the context of that quote. At the end of 2007 season, LSU was 11-2, with overtime losses to Kentucky and Arkansas. In those days, the BCS had only two teams. There was a lot of controversy about who would be the two teams. LSU had won the SEC, but had two losses, which was unprecedented for a team to be selected into the BCS title game. Les Miles had the brilliant remark that, "We're still undefeated in regulation." LSU and Ohio State were selected. LSU won the game and the BCS title. Sure, Miles had his ups and downs as a coach, but the remark was brilliant, and he won the BCS title that year.
