Is that we finally get 2nd and 3rd team valuable reps against what should be lesser competition. This could really pay dividends down the road...

We will see what these guys do in games and not just practice and could tweak recruiting as a by product

And it will amount to even more injuries because a lot of those guys are not physically ready to take the pounding in the SEC. It's a double-edged sword unfortunately. For the ones that avoid the injury bug it will prove most valuable indeed.

Ohio is not an SEC team, and they really pounded us.

Or they lose a game or two.. That's why these guys are backups. There is drop off. We've seen it already. That's why it's crazy to think now Tennessee has some cakewalk through the rest of their schedule. Remember they weren't playing all that great of ball with the first stringers. Double digit holes what 6 out of 7 games. We had issues before this , this just compounds them..:ermm:

let's hope this team isn't listening to all the "talk" that we are on easy street from here out. There are no cake walks in the SEC. just ask Georgia. It's that mentality that this is just appy state that will gets us beat.

No good news. The trend has us losing several more players in each game. This is unprecedented

So this is the only way the coaching staff can get valuable reps to 2nd and 3rd stringers?

Everyone needs to give the OP a break. He/she is just pointing out the positives in a situation. Are you all forgetting that just because the coaches say that players are going to get reps doesn't mean they're starting good Lord. DT reps for Phillips, Butcher and others as second/third string guys will be good for them. We still have Vickers and Tuttle starting. LB reps for guys like Bituli will be a positive. We will still have Kirkland, McDowell, Jumper and Berry getting the lion's share. Good grief.

I said NOTHING about a cakewalk I said lesser competition. You think the next 5 games are against teams as good as the last 4?

It definitely lets the back-ups shine, but also for us, who might be the future suttons, barnetts, hurds, and reeves-maybins. Right now other than Kelly, Kirkland, and Jennings I can't tell who our future playmakers are.

I would rather the backups get in the old fashioned way. Halfway through the fourth quarter of a beat down.

The time for backups to have gotten reps would have been the second halves of ASU and Ohio but that didn't work out so well for it to happen.

Forgive some of them they missed the strawman day in class. However dangle a participle, tablet spellchecker hoses you, use a preposition at the end of a sentence, don't uses caps or punctuation to their standard, or a host of grammar mistakes intentional or not, the VN schoolmarms, most often first to attend college in their family and must display how bright they are to get there, do not have the critical thinking skills or experience of your average first grader. You're not out in left field on this IMO (in my opinion) as a schoolmarm assist.
