The idea that you can't win at Arkansas would infuriate me as a Razorback fan. If you can win at Clemson, Ole Miss, Auburn, etc. then you can win at Arkansas. The fanbase and support are there. They do not have elite resources, but they are strong enough and you can definitely win there. The mod on the Arkansas 247 board says Rhett Lashlee doesn't think you can win at Arkansas and that "there are influential people in central Arkansas who want Bobby Petrino to make this work and carry on as head coach."
Bobby did a number on Sam Pittman didn't he? But karma is undefeated.

Pretty much, and Arkansas is the only school willing to crawl into bed with that scumbag againThe mod on the Arkansas 247 board says Rhett Lashlee doesn't think you can win at Arkansas and that "there are influential people in central Arkansas who want Bobby Petrino to make this work and carry on as head coach."

I'd argue you can win anywhere in the SEC in football except for Kentucky - because they care more about basketball - and maybe Vandy (although they're at least giving the impression that they're "serious" about not being a doormat anymore)The idea that you can't win at Arkansas would infuriate me as a Razorback fan. Arkansas fired him for pretty egregious team management stuff. You shouldn't expect to be able to hire your incompetent mistress for important staffing positions.Dabo was almost run out before he flipped the switch. Ole Miss took a big swing and once it was trending up, made an all out attempt to keep Kiffin by competing with other schools financially. Auburn is trending like Florida, but on a slower pace.
Arkansas had a winner and then fired Petrino for off the field stuff. They have paid for that poor decision with subsequent coaches.
Arkansas to me will fade into a Basketball school in this era.
The likes of Florida and Auburn are drifting into irrelevance while schools like Ole Miss and Vandy appear to be surging. The allure of the historical status of schools don't matter anymore.
Don't think the Walmart heirs have much to do with the Razorbacks. They don't have elite resources? View attachment 777733
This all smells like some back stabbing been going onThat was my first reaction, too.
But after thinking about it, the first thing an interim or new coach does is listen to his players and let them air their grievances. I feel confident that Petrino would not have fired these coaches if the players had expressed any confidence in them.
For whatever reasons, I think the players wanted this change, and I expect they will play with renewed commitment before they turn their attention to the portal. Even those who know they want to leave Arkansas will view the rest of this season as an opportunity to prove on the field their value in the portal.
So, I'm thinking none of this news is of any benefit to Tennessee two weeks from now.
I think Petrino was brought in to replace Pittman from the start. It is aparrant that behind the scenes talk has been going on.It’s either this, or Petrino has been plotting this coupe since he took the OC job.
The way Arkansas forced Pittman to hire Petrino, I wouldn’t be shocked if they asked Pittman to coach under Petrino while getting paid his buyout. Arkansas has been goofy since they fired Petrino in the first place.
UT has been pressuring everybody with just 4, that leaves A. Carter, Spillman, or B. Carter to spy.Their defense won’t be why they keep it close if they do, taylen green is the only way they can keep it close. We have not been good stopping the run, and I’m scared of a dual threat qb. That being said, we should be fine
That's not smart if that's the reasoning.I had to think about it, but it makes sense. This season is in the dumps, and they probably are thinking why wait until the off season to start installing the defense they want. They have the chance to get the new staff in place and to have meaningful, real game reps for our players, so that there is no drop off next year.
Poor decision? Petrino put them in a position where any organization would have to terminate a manager. They had no choice. The one who made the poor decision was Bobby Petrino. A whole series of them that affected a lot of people, including his wife and family. The "off the field stuff" you're referring to was program-damaging unethical conduct.Dabo was almost run out before he flipped the switch.
