For whatever reasons, I think the players wanted this change, and I expect they will play with renewed commitment before they turn their attention to the portal. Even those who know they want to leave Arkansas will view the rest of this season as an opportunity to prove on the field their value in the portal.

So, I'm thinking none of this news is of any benefit to Tennessee two weeks from now.

That's the logic in Patrino....an offensive minded coach. That's not the logic of firing half the damn defensive staff mid season and risk killing any kind of will those players on that side of the ball have left.

idk. I read on hogville that there were Defensive players reacting negatively to this. I also think Patrino is more worried about himself than the team. That snake had this planned since he kicked his kickstand out back in Fayetteville.

Wouldn’t most DCs that he would target be coaching right now? I don’t think installing a new D in two weeks isn’t doable. He called plays for the offense already. The D will look similar, maybe take more chances?

The OL probably loved Pittman as well, so I expect a drop off there. I expect this will be a beat down by us, but they will score. I think this game will look more like the Syracuse game.

Partly because the fan base gets up to play us as well as the team. We are a team where some like Miss St. would storm the field.should be happy about that part.

Nobody cares about Miss St versus USCe or Kentucky. Miss St. cares about playing us, ole Miss, LSU, Bama.

oh noes I misspelled a name. How am I wrong? Bobby Petrino is an offensive minded coach. Yes he is a talented head coach but a talented head coach that tries to do everything will not make it far. He's kicking a bunch of defensive people to the curb. How does that help him? Even if he has 3 people who aren't actively coaching waiting in the wings, what are they going to accomplish in a week? This reeks more of "these guys were loyal to Pittman so Eff them" more than it does anything else.

This is a big game.

If us and Notre Dame are both 10-2 this’ll be a common opponent that gets brought up.

We don’t just need to win, we need to beat them by at least 44. And honestly if you factor in the ND bias and Arky staff turnover, it’s probably closer to 60.

Its less than 2 weeks. Today is already gone. maybe he announces tomorrow but if they're a morning practicing team, that day is already gone too. Next week, they only have 2-3 days to really install something before they're going through walk throughs and getting ready to board the plane to TYS. I just don't see it.
