Well, maybe the positive from tonight…

He's made a lot of stupid decisions. He has occasionally all year that has given me pause. I see it here tonight. He's nowhere near ready.
Can you give us some examples on his bad decision making? It would be nice if you could show us some video and point it out to us.

Tillman = no joke against #1 team, nice to see several WRs get live action and do pretty good, Velus is really steady, Small runs well enough to be dangerous, Milton did well in relief. Thought the offense left a touchdown or two on the field.

At this point the OL isn't a question any more. It's needs more quality players and strong depth. No further analysis needed, figure out exactly what you think you need and go get it. We shouldn't be wringing out hands like this next fall, at least not to this degree.

They sure do. On Georgia's final or next to final drive with about 3 to 4 minutes left, that defense was popping as if it were the first quarter. And that's after getting run over for an entire game. I love how this coaching staff has his team motivated to play even though they're not at the level they need to be talent-wise and depth wise.

Hell since we are doing alternate unifrms? They ought to salute "The Longest Yard" and wear the mean machine jerseys. They are hitting mean.

The reality is we are going to have to score 40+ to beat average and better teams. I really really hope that ain’t the case the last 2 games or I may need a liver transplant

We need an O and D line! It's all patchwork. It's also been years since we had it. UGA had both.

Uh Huh. But our patchwork lines gave their number 1 ranked lines Hell and had them gasping aching and hoping for the clock to run out. Some might think Georgia was flopping. But every time they went down, most of those guys really were hurting. This wasn't Lane Train part two nonsense. Replay showed them getting hurt. And the Vols were fighting like warriors tonight.

Yeah, the talent level went Georgia's way. Our guys had some miscues and failures to execute, and Georgia was able to pull away. But there was no quit, like that game vs Georgia State. They gave their all for Tennessee. And I have a feeling there were a few future recruits watching it. If they keep this up? Heupel will get his recruits. It's a new day. Enjoy it. The present is not all we want it to be yet. But the strides being made? These players are clawing tooth and nail to bring us out of football Hell. Be proud of them. Hell, even I am.

If you want to talk positives? Forget the score for one second. Physically, we have banged up Georgia. Those twerps are going to go home sore. As much as they would like to throw down one more TD in the dying minutes, they are in survival mode in the last 3 minutes. Vols need more depth to compete with the top teams. But they are capable of making anybody dread facing them. I hate losing and don't buy into moral victories. But damn our boys took some kind of chunk out of the Dogs. And as things stand right now? I can be proud of our men for this aspect of a loss. georgia may be smiling, but they are damn glad this one is over.
Good point. I just read in the stat line where Tennessee lead in "making the other guys sore."

Outscored all of Georgia’s previous opponents…

Hooker didn't. Milton got the last TD.

As to the topic of this thread.
I don't think Hooker in mentally ready to go. He was not the same after the pick and you can't play scared. There were times he should have thrown the ball that he didn't. Maybe he didn't see those.
The one that sticks out to me is the sack he took on forth down on his last play. You don't take a sack there. That is effectively the same as Milton running out of bounds on the last play of the Ole Miss game.
He needs to learn to play the same and not get rattled.

He needs to learn to throw the ball away to avoid sacks. Takes way too many sacks. Didn’t just miss the deep ball…threw high on short to medium throws often, once leading to an INT. His decision to just throw the ball away on 4th down was like Milton running out of bounds against Ole Miss…made no sense. Lot of decision-making errors.

I love Hooker, which is why I’m saying it’s a positive if he comes back. But I actually think coming back would help him. Especially if we can put more talent around him.
Going through his reads and nothing is there. Georgia’s secondary locked it down last night. I’m glad he didn’t try to force anything. The Dawgs have an A1 Defense and our boys kept fighting. Proud of them and what they have overcome in the last year. GO VOLS!!!

Terrible take OP. Hooker has one bad game and that’s what you come up with. He had the 4th best passer rating before today’s game.
No Kidding. I just read through some of this s..t. Good lord. We weren’t going to beat the best team in the country. We aren’t beating anybody w a pulse without Hooker. Sometimes this site confuses the hell out me.
