He needs to learn to throw the ball away to avoid sacks. Takes way too many sacks. Didn’t just miss the deep ball…threw high on short to medium throws often, once leading to an INT. His decision to just throw the ball away on 4th down was like Milton running out of bounds against Ole Miss…made no sense. Lot of decision-making errors.
I love Hooker, which is why I’m saying it’s a positive if he comes back. But I actually think coming back would help him. Especially if we can put more talent around him.
The only positive thing to take away from tonight is…
1) I cleaned out my fall beers
2) I watched 2 full quarters of football with my 3 1/2 year old daughter
3) she got into it and even yelled at the screen with me
Numbers 2 and 3 are what makes TN football worth it. Number 1 just makes it manageable.
If you want to talk positives? Forget the score for one second. Physically, we have banged up Georgia. Those twerps are going to go home sore. As much as they would like to throw down one more TD in the dying minutes, they are in survival mode in the last 3 minutes. Vols need more depth to compete with the top teams. But they are capable of making anybody dread facing them. I hate losing and don't buy into moral victories. But damn our boys took some kind of chunk out of the Dogs. And as things stand right now? I can be proud of our men for this aspect of a loss. georgia may be smiling, but they are damn glad this one is over.
