Why do I feel like we are gonna get SCREWED and then the rule will be changed, after we get screwed of course??

.

Gotta pull for Georgia and Arkansas to beat Florida. Or you're right.

This would be an interesting scenario with great ratings: We get to the end of the season and SECCG gets postponed one week for FL-LSU game. Winner goes to SECCG (1 loss Florida or a 1 loss LSU) with Tennessee and Bama/aTm biting their nails watching the game to see who gets eliminated.

I prefer Tennessee to just win out though!

This cannot happen. The reason is I've had a flight and hotel booked for the SEC Championship since May!

Just read on 247 sports that the by laws state that the team with the better winning percentage advances to seccg. Florida 6-1 is better winning percentage than Tennessee 6-2. The article even went on to say that Florida would not push very hard to reschedule that game because if they lose it they are definitely out if we have the same record. Just stating what I read.

This is the truth.

Think it was posted if Florida doesn't play eight conference games, they don't have the better record.

What I hear is that if FL has one loss and we have 2, which is very likely, then according to SEC rules they go. IF I was Florida, I would try not to make up the game. :hi:

JRM, Kirkland and Sutton out, although still able to win without them.

Now Hurd is probably out, and LSU FL game postponed maybe canceled, so FL has better chance of finishing with one loss, Correct?

Been trying not to go Full Panic Mode but.....:yikes:

Remember Florida not making up their Idaho game? It screwed up their entire season. Despite the fears of nincompoops, that game will be made up.

Why the heck didn't they just play a home game in Baton Rouge, like South Carolina did? It gets alot more folks outta the path of the storm.

What I haven't seen anywhere on this post is this- MORE REASON TO HATE THE GATORS! They're all losers and A*%wholes in the minds of all SEC fans anyway. We been sayin it for years. This now proves it to the football fans everywhere. A real football team shows up. They went into hiding. Pretty sure their lousy team will lose 2 more anyway and this is a moot point.

Nuff about that. God Bless the entire SE facing hurricane Matthew!

As for Florida the rule says best winning % not #, irrelevant because Florida will lose more SEC games than we do, since we go 9-0 and they are already tagged with a loss by us.

A&M are the ones that are in trouble. They play our Vols and we are still stacked on offense and defense.

Go Vols!

Yeah but the % says out of 8 conference games. If Florida plays only 7 there's no way the SEC lets them in over us. It would be the biggest robbery in the history of the SEC. I'm not sure the SEC would be ready for the shiz storm that precedent would set.

Florida simple did not want to play this game. They sat on their hands long before the storms because they knew it would benefit them no matter what not to play this game. There was a way to play this game and they simple chose not to take any of the options.

This is all purely hypothetical at this point, and hinges on a very specific situation playing out. IMO there is no need to worry yet, we can cross that bridge when and IF we end up with 2 SEC losses, which I'm not ready to concede to yet. After what I've seen from Team 120 through the first 5 games this season, I'm not counting them out of any game until there's triple zeros on the clock.

Also, FWIW, if Fla-LSU is rescheduled, Gators will get whooped and put them at 2 SEC losses. And even if that game doesn't get rescheduled, they will get whooped by UGA and Arkansas.

So sit back, relax, and get ready to cheer the Vols on tomorrow, and all the way to Atlanta!

Kyle Tucker has an article on SEC Country saying that if Florida goes 6-1 and Tennessee goes 6-2 that Florida goes to the SECCG. This was also confirmed by Brett McMurphy on Finebaum earlier this evening.

So if this is the way it all boils down, we pretty much get screwed for playing the full 8 conference games! What a bunch of 🐮💩😡!!

When I saw Florida may not reschedule I thought, for the 1st time ever, I made the statement most Vol fans have asked sooner or later.

Maybe we are cursed.

I think we will be fine. Shoop as DC ... And debord if he don't flippin play conservative we be fine.

if he doesn't? he always does with the lead. we have to hope we are down late with the ball. if UT has the lead going into the last 5 minutes, we lose.

Seems to me the only games that should be counted towards the SEC East Championship should be SEC East games. But whatevs.
