There is a future Mrs. Cotton. I am engaged.

Congrats! Good to see you finally conquered those self esteem issues related to your inferior golf game. Ignore the detractors. Marriage is pretty darn good with the right person.

Thanks, guys...I think. When I saw her cheering for UT against her alma mater in the 4th overtime, I knew it was time.

I think I've still got some work to do to convert her during basketball season, though.

I agree . . . A woman with a single digit handicap who likes football sounds darn near perfect.

She's also a lawyer, drinks beer, doesn't really mind me dipping snuff, has become a pretty good cook, and, if I might say, hot.

In retrospect, I'm not sure what took me so long to come around:p

In other words you've set yourself up right to stay at home and let her bring home the bacon? You rock!

As a lawyer going through a nasty divorce after 23 years with another lawyer, I hope your's turns out better.

I know I'm very cynical at this point, but I offer my congratulations anyway.

Brave, brave man marrying a lawyer.

Best of luck.

I was headed to the Smokies over the holidays and we passed one of the Christmas stores that was packed with a bunch of guys standing outside in the cold obviously on hold while the hens shopped.

I pointed this out to my son and said the first trip to G'burg with your wife usually involves a nice meal, a bottle of wine and much connubial bliss in a heart shaped jacuzzi......but you'll be standing out in the cold for your next twenty five or thirty visits.

Well, it has already started. Less than 48 hours after the proposal and there is already a flurry of activity about places and dates. You know, all of the good places just might get booked between today and tomorrow. The fiance is actually pretty cool; the future mother-in-law is, well, excited. I don't blame her at all, and she is a very nice woman, but I hope some of the frenzied activity slows down once the newness of the idea wears off.
