Football Christmas has come and gone. Stocking appears pretty full. Dooley can settle in for a short winters' night (get ready for the O&W, coach).

For the most part...everybody happy with what we got?

For me...I love the big O-Line. You don't always get big stars with O-Line prospects...but you sure can't win without 'em. D help is great, too...especially the line.

Now, we can move on to Happy New Year...Big Orange Style in the next few months. Was a great day to be a Vol (as they all are...but this one was extra nice).

Go Vols!

....I know...kinda lame...but this did feel like Christmas today.

I am very happy with the final results. I know everyone thinks that their guys should be rated higher, but we had 2 Parade All-American 3 stars which is just strange. So I believe the class is even better than the experts think. Not orange tinted goggles either, I think a non-partisan fan would agree.

I was pumped up last night, and today was a little underwhelming, but after listening to CDD's press conference I am sky high.

We have a foundation to build on - and coaches who can recruit the right way.

We got better at every position - and got some pretty good kids in the process.

Coach 'em up CDD

You know guys watching the U.S. Army game the one guy I said we needeed was Tiny! Guess what thats who we got & we should be estatic! I will admit I caught up in the Big Fish posts & I promise next year will be different. Why, because after listening to C.D.D. presser thats not what he wants people that will buy into the program. You may not like the man I am about to mention, but I am a firefighter in Durham N.C. & have met Coach K. yes the Duke coach he is all about believing in the program with class individuals & in my eyes this is who I see C.D.D. closest too in opinions please don't hate on me J.M.O. & K has done pretty well. G.B.O.

It's a very good class that I am confident will be a solid foundation for this team over the next 3-4 years. However I am somewhat perplexed on how we keep striking out on DT's. Why is it that we cannot seem to reel in the "big tuna" when it comes defensive tackles?? I know this staff made DT a huge priority for this recruiting class, yet somehow fell short. This is the 2nd recruiting class in a row this has happened. What's the problem? We have put a LOT of defensive tackles in the NFL. Why do they seem to avoid UT?

If DD can be like coach K I will take it and run. That man does more with less than anyone!! Period!! I believe in Dooley and love his character. He is a perfect fit for UT. I so look forward to our future. Thanks coach for bringing confidence to this VFL VOL fan!

Happy... You bet. We have (according to Scout) a top 10 recruiting class after going 6-7 this year. Many of the big needs we have are going to be filled by young men who want to be part of what Coach Dooley & Co. are building in Knoxville. I am already looking forward to September 3, 2011. It is the next step in the VOLS ascent back to their rightful place among the great teams in college football.

Really I think it is just bad luck. What we need is for a big stud DT to be in Nashville, and fall in our lap ala John Henderson. Kiffin had a couple last year but they changed their mind when he bolted. This year we did good just not great, but we were really close. I know Carson, Saulsberry, and Williams may not be NSD splashes but in a couple of years we may be glad we have them.

Maurice Couch is a DT and we get 2 experienced DT's back next year from their preseason Achilles injuries.. we missed on some but still time

You get the guys so you can play the game. All we have to do is get the guy we got ready to play the game. I expect much better results from last year. I'm pumped; how many days until first game kickoff? Go gettem (T)eam.

It's Tennessee Stud Time. Yabba Dabba Doo

I can't wait for the walk on kicker to show his stuff.

Great comparison. People who don't like Coach K still respect him (I tend to like him). I believe we have a true winner leading our program, in Dooley. You've got to love his thought process and how he represents our program. Every time I hear him speak, I get fired up.

IMHO this will take some time. Look at the big fish we lost.

Gabe Wright - I believe the quote was "In the end it came down to who was there first."

Timmy Jernigan - Been an FSU since the beginning and we came too late to the party.

Listen to his Press Conference from today and it'll cheer you up. It made me feel a LOT better.

For NSD 2012, I don't want a bunch of signing day announcements. What I want is for UT to spend the last few days leading up to NSD putting all of their top targets on lockdown, securing a top 5-10 class (ideally 1-5) heading into NSD, and kinda kill any suspense and steal all thunder from what any other program could produce. The talking heads could spend all day talking about the class that Dooley secured for UT, which only helps on down the road.
