Wanted to put this in the 'What brand of Champagne are you chilling" thread, but the mods wisely killed it.

And there have been very few 'refs' threads which the membership has shouted down.

UT lost against an equal opponent on neutral ground, if anything else on UT turf. Those more knowledgeable on basketball than myself (hatvol and BPV) might have some coaching perspective about the end-game, but my opinion is that it was a hearty 40 minutes and that someone had to lose.

Remember, both of my sister's alma mater's relevancy was born from a few spirited wins followed by a bittersweet loss, with a coach who had had Reggie Lewis taking on some of the best ever.

My 2 cents, feel free to reply or PM. GBO.

wow didnt post right...but steve pearl is more relevant than steve pickell, and JP is a pick em witth Nadav Henefeld.

Perhaps its a recruiting from football carryover, but for every Donyell Marshall there is a 6'5 broad shouldered Donny Marshall

Ehh, in hindsight you can easily say that.. BUT, we were down one and I think he has to shoot the ball and leave enough time on the clock to have a play or two left incase he misses.

What did hurt was him missing the second of the two FT's bc it didn't allow our D to get back and get set. Mich St. was able to get a player under the basket in transition and we had no choice but to foul.

It was a very well played game and someone had to loose, unfortunately that team was us this time. Still an AMAZING season by CBP and co. Hate it had to end. Good Luck to Wayne, JP and Bobby and thank you for giving your all to Tennessee!

They aren't more knowledgeable. They just speak as though they are more knowledgeable. Both of them(esp BPV) get routing laughs from former players and coaches who occasionally read this forum. Neither one of them are remotely objective with their opinions and sound ridiculously stupid at times. That being said, both are smart guys, just not as smart as they think they are

By the way, I didn't mean to offend any Southern Baptists or Pentecostals in the Volnation by drinking alcoholic beverages on Sunday. I just thought this was a special basketball season deserving of a celebration, win or lose, and the game just happened to fall on Sunday. I wasn't trying to intentionally upset people.

And from left field...

I agree Jtrain, it hasn't been as much of a meltdown and I supposed it would be. Everyone appreciates what the team did. No one thought on January 2nd that we would be going to the Elite 8 and we did. Outstanding season.

I was replying to the first sentence in this thread, about the champagne thread getting deleted by the mods. I'm assuming I angered some Christians yesterday by drinking alcohol on Sunday.
Oh. I didn't even realize what he was talking about. Gotcha

No, I think that was more about "jinxing" the team.

Let me know about those routing laughs from those reading. I'll be happy to talk with them. Decent chance I know them.

Unfortunately, we all know ut isn't coming because you're as full of it as anyone on this site.

All that said, you can beat everyone in a 50 mile radius. Living in Bangladesh must be nice.

Duse doesn't like it because he's equally know it all, only dumber. He's as condescending as anyone on this site, but an administrator at some piss ant university and get his chops busted for lunacy regularly. He's now just making stuff up because nobody would ever acknowledge that he knows anything, though the reasons are obvious to most observers.
