Assuming he wins the next few games. The seat will cool a little not saying beating vandy,ky and Missouri is a huge accomplishment but it will make SC game will be a little less painful .

I do feel for coach as he has given it everything he's got and then some in my opinion. There is a lot of pressure on him to win out and hope FL loses two sec games which is the perfect scenario for Butch and TN. However, does anyone stand a chance against BAMA?I'm not sure a second embarrassment to BAMA in the title game is what Butch needs in 5 weeks. He and the program might very well be better of winning out, getting a respectable bowl game and finishing 10-3 and back in the top 25. Perhaps FL getting embarrassed for the 2nd straight year in the SEC championship game would be better for the VOLS going forward.

My only point with the foregoing scenario is realistically TN probably has zero chance of upsetting BAMA in the SEC championship game without Tuttle, McKenzie, O'brien, JRM, Hurd etc

Either way I hope for the best possible outcome for TN. Tough, tough year for the VOLS.

Hard not to disagree with this...but the above scenario would more or less meet expectations for this year. Most thought we would win the East then most likely fall to Bama in the CG. Rankings wise it would probably be better not to go to the game in the first place, if everything remained static. But sometimes you can't predict the unknown...Hurts could slip coming off the bus in ATL and sprain his ankle, then we might stand a chance to win ugly.

This scenario has been going through my head non stop since 4th Qtr USCe.

I'm afraid it's almost inevitable because. . .

Because we're Tennessee

I can deal with the loss and the drop in rankings.

What I can't deal with is-
It's the weeklong fevor pitch of how we've arrived and this time we're gonna beat them and no room for negavols week build up. Then the emotional aftermath calling for Butch's head on a stick, the power of arithmetic double insistence that Butch isn't elite. ....

It's just not fair to see some of VolNation try and process that.

It's absolutely ridiculous to force Florida to play in Baton Rouge I tell ya.

I'd love be 9-3 and knock bama out of the playoff. I'd also love 3 more inches and a few million dollars.
