Again, winning the East is not that noteworthy.

Gators are not that excited with him. Living off a defense muschamp left.

Winning the east may not be noteworthy but I'm pretty sure it is step #1 of achieving the teams goals this year.

"Living off the defense Muschamp left" Did Urban Myer win a national championship with Ron Zooks recruits? Maybe he did but that doesnt mean he can't coach.

Like many others on our board, I'm truly disappointed that our guys didn't get a chance to represent the east in ATL. However, the opportunity was first lost at the USCe game; that's where the team and staff failed to control their own destiny.

As for yesterday, I'm happy for the win even though the D is still a hot mess of bad reads, slow reaction time, poor tackling, and missed assignments.

Our guys will have to bring it within all phases of mistake-free play next week because the Vandy game is going to be a true challenge for Team 120. At this point, our boys are playing for a respectable bowl game, instead of just any bowl game. The program must continue to show progression even in the midst of lost opportunity.

It is.

The USC loss was very bad because of what it cost us and it should have never happened. That said, the program has been turned around dramatically.

Never expected Butch to win championships here. Butch is what he is. Our school has no real commitment to winning. That is the real issue.

University of Tennessee where we set the bar low in all sports so mediocrity is makes us look good.

No it isnt. Their late score was meaningless.

Bama was NEVER in danger of losing that game.

And I didn't say Bama was in danger of losing the game, just that 29-15 is not a blowout. Stop making up crap to try to win an argument.

Honestly, Florida is in the same shape.

Not even close. JM won 2 east titles in 2 years immediately after replacing a loser. How are they in the same position as a team with a coach that has 0 east titles in 4 years. Florida is a good QB away from being scary.

It's simple, if you're happy with minuscule improvement, moral victories, beating who we are supposed to and losing to who we are supposed to, hanging around the middle of the pack, then we have our guy.

If we wanna get to the next level we have to find a real coach who can actually coach football. Coordinators who can run offenses and defenses. We have a salesman. I appreciate him bringing us out of the Dooley gutter but he can't get us to the next level.

This is the best post I've seen on here in a long time.

And winning games at a much higher rate than Muschamp ever dreamed of. Two straight SECCG appearances, in years one and two for McElwain, is light years better than anything Butch Jones has done at Tennessee after 4 years.
