Welcome young Mr. LaMaison

After all the injuries in the past week or two, I'm just really REALLY glad we've got another QB here.

When is he getting to campus? And if he's eligible for 2009 why did he wait so long to commit?

Nevermind, read the press release.

If not against WKU, any time this season? Or will he just be for emergency situations this season?

He's definitely behind the 8-ball with having to learn the offense this late. But then again he's not competing against Joe Montana or Terry Bradshaw for the starting job either...

If he starts against WKU, it wouldn't necessary be a bad thing. Could mean he's been working on the offense and is head and shoulders above everyone else in practice. Who knows at this point though. All I know is that I am scared of Crompton.

I think Lamaison is basically replacing the spot that Coleman left, which would clearly put him at #3 at that start of camp. If you include Rozier then we will actually be 4 deep at QB this year.

I understand what you all are saying about learning the system, but it's not like Crompton has been in this system years, he has only been in it for a few months. Besides we are talking Crompton here.

Keep in mind, Crompton and Stephens started studying film and the offensive playbook in December last year. They also went through spring practice and have been learning ever since. They definitely have a big advantage over Lamaison at this point.

I read up on him a bit, and I visited a juco football board, and everyone there had amazing things to say about him. Said he is the real deal. He has a great arm, great accuracy, and his biggest talent is his decision making. He rarely throws interceptions, and is smart with the ball.

Sounds like the opposite of Crompton. I think we really might have a battle for the number one spot come camp. Also to those of you who say that he won't be able to start at WKU because he doesn't know the system.... His competition is Crompton. We know his aptitude for knowing a playbook. IE last season when he would call a time out because he didn't remember what play we were calling.

I heard on rivals radio that scroggins and bailey might commit today after Nike 7-on-7 tournaments

I'm hearing that he is going to stick with his original date of July 25th, which could be good news for the Vols.

If he announces today, he's all USC.
